Chapter 6: Cozy Coffee Shop Vibes Kinda Day // I Need You
Alexis knows Pete has to work today so she's hanging around the house for most of the afternoon. She makes her a coffee on the regular coffeemaker and notices out of the blue it begins raining. As soon as it begins raining she heads back upstairs to enjoy her coffee. Then her phone buzzes with a text message from Pete reading: I've got a quick 10 minute break; let me pick you up. Get ready. I wanna kiss ya when I see ya.- Pete. She hurries to get dressed and puts the rest of her coffee in a to-go cup and Pete pulls in. She's ready to see him; walks right over to the car and hops in the front and gives him a kiss. He's ecstatic to see her and she hangs out with him at Brew Blends rest of the day. He also forgot to mention they have a new Winter house blend called Winter's Dawn- a combination of dark chocolate notes with fresh cinnamon and zest of an orange. She thanks him for the blend and really wasn't expecting that at all.
She finds a spot to get cozy in and finishes the rest of her morning coffee from home while he continues to work. After work is over around 2pm, he takes Alexis to The Bean and grabs lunch with her and some oat-milk lattes. They head back after lunch, and he gets changed and he sets a TV show up to pass the time on this day. She notices it's still raining and gets all cozied up to Pete while they watch TV. I couldn't think of a more perfect afternoon to spend with my girl.- Pete thought.
The next day...
Alexis gets an urgent message from her saying she needs her immediately.Pete drives her over to her mom's house and she tells Alexis, "My divorce has been finalized and I don't know what to do with myself." Alexis goes to her and gives her a hug. "I didn't know Pete was here." says Diana. "He drove me over here to see what the problem was." says Alexis. "That was nice of him to do that. Honey, if it's okay do you mind staying with me tonight?" says Diana. "Yes. Babe, it is okay if I stay with my mom tonight?" says Alexis. "I wouldn't be offended if he stayed." says Diana. "Yes, and I'll come back to grab our stuff. Thank you for letting me stay the night. I greatly appreciate it. If there is anything I can do let me know."says Pete. "You're sweet, Pete. Alexis, keep him." says Diana. "I will, mom." says Alexis. "I'll grab our stuff and I'll be back. I love you, babe." says Pete, giving Alexis a quick smooch. He runs back to his friends' place and gets the important things and comes right back. "Thank you for coming by." says Diana. "Anything for you, Mom." says Alexis, giving her mom a hug. "Here's our stuff and I'm going to change and be right back down to see if you girls' need anything." says Pete. I'm so thankful for him and also coming to my rescue when my mom needs it, too. -Alexis thought.
