Well it has been a minute (3 to 4 months exact) since I've written a new chapter for this. Writer's block got the best of me... anyways, here's a new chapter- I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for sticking around with this story- also I appreciate the patience for those that were waiting for a new chapter too.

Chapter 21: A New Opportunity Begins...

Monday of September 2021

Seattle, WA

After their much needed weekend away, Pete heads into work and he gets a phone call (trust me this is a good phone call). He answers it and this man begins speaking to him about a potential barista job in London, England UK. Pete finishes the phone call and continues to do his barista duties. Hopefully, Alexis has a good reaction to this news. He arrives home a few hours later and asks Alexis, "Babe, I got a phone call while I was at work today." Alexis says, "What for?" Pete says, "They are giving me a new barista job over in London." Alexis says, "What?! How did this come about?" Pete says, "I don't know. Maybe someone knows someone..." Alexis says, "Babe, this is awesome! But what about the wedding? Have you told your co-workers yet?" Pete says, "I'm glad you are happy for me. I still haven't told anyone else but you yet. You are the first person I've told because I should tell the most important person first." Alexis says, "Whatever you decide to do, I've got your back either way. We don't have to rush into a wedding yet. We got time to plan. At least we have the most important part out of the way- our first dance." Pete says, "True. We don't need to rush the wedding either." Alexis says, "I guess we possibly need to study our British lingo." Pete says, "We'll have to when I make my mind up." Alexis says, "You have worked so hard. Your parents are smiling down at you." Pete says, "They would be so proud of me of the man that I've become. And the most beautiful woman I am thankful to have in my life. They would've loved you so much." Alexis says, "I'm glad I met you, Barista Boy." Pete says, "Again, me too. I've got a big decision to make."

A week later in September 2021

Brew Blends in Seattle, WA

Pete gathers his co-worker's into the main area of the coffee shop; Alexis and her mom are also there, too. Pete says, "Well, I got a phone call a week ago for a job opportunity and it's a big one. They offered it to me in London, England UK. I haven't told the nice man on the phone my answer yet. But I wanted to tell the rest of the important people in my life." One of his co-worker's says, "I think you should go for it. When you do get opportunities like this very often?" All the rest of his co-worker's are nodding in agreement. Pete says, "I guess I've got a phone call to make. But I before I do that, I wanted to let you all know that being here at Brew Blends has been nothing short of sweet. I love the company I'm surrounded by everyday; making the most fun coffee drinks and hosting coffee workshops- maybe I can bring the workshops across the pond? Anyways, I just wanted to tell you all how much I'm going to miss you. You are the best co-worker's I've ever had; it's going to be a tough transition but I know it'll be worth it in the end. Speaking of that phone call..." Pete goes to make that phone call with the number he wrote down on a piece of paper. He tells the nice British man on the phone he wants to take the job. The man says on the phone, "How soon can you be here?" Pete says on the phone, "Is a month reasonable?" The man says on the phone, "A month is plenty to get yourself and anyone else here. We'll make hotel arrangements in a few weeks until we can find you a flat (an apartment) here in the UK." Pete takes care of the important phone call and does let his current job know he needs two weeks notice. After the announcement, Diana takes Pete & Alexis out to dinner for this celebratory occasion.

"Pete, you don't know how proud I am. I had no idea that was going to happen." says Diana. "Thanks, future mom-in-law. Me neither- it was so spontaneous. I couldn't say no to something like that." says Pete. "Are you two putting wedding planning on pause?" saysDiana. "I think that's something we both agreed on- we don't need to rush anything- we are a young couple now." says Pete. "True. Well, I am proud of you- I'm gonna say it again." says Diana. "Thanks." says Pete. "Is there any important parts you got done wedding-wise?" says Diana. "We got the first dance out of the way." says Alexis. "At least that's done. The most important part is Pete getting settled for his new job." says Diana. "I agree." says Alexis. "The nice British man I talked to on the phone told me they are going to set up hotel arrangements until we can find an apartment to live in while I'm there with my girl in the UK." says Pete. "That's exciting to know!" says Diana. "It is." says Alexis. "I just wish my parents were here to see all of this good that came into my life." says Pete. "You miss them a lot, don't you?" says Diana. "I do. Everyday of my existence. We've got to find a way to incorporate my parents and your dad into the wedding." says Pete. "We'll figure it out- we've got time." says Alexis. "Yes, we do have time." says Pete. Diana, Pete & Alexis finish up their meal and everyone heads back home.

This opportunity is going to be wonderful for my Barista Boy. I'm just so proud of how hard he's worked to get here. It makes me happy to see doing something he loves. If I hadn't walked in that day to Brew Blends, life would completely different. I'm looking forward to this change for Pete. I will have to talk to my mom and see how we can incorporate my late dad and his late parents into the ceremony. I know that he would appreciate it so. I guess I better also brush upon my British, too. - Alexis thought.

"How do you feel about everything?" says Pete, laying in bed close to his girl. "I'll be honest it does feel all so sudden but I know how important this is to you. I will be there with you always." says Alexis. "Thanks, I appreciate you being honest with me." says Pete, giving his girl a kiss. "I get to kiss those lips even more often once we are married." says Alexis. "I never get sick of kissing you." says Pete. "Me neither. I'm just so happy for you, baby; I just am." says Alexis, kissing her guy. "Gosh, you cannot get enough of me can you?" says Pete. "Well, you are mine, so..."says Alexis. "I guess I am yours. Forever and always." says Pete, kissing his girl.
