==============
Alex's jaw dropped, and he nearly choked on his tea again.
Grandma?! Since when?!
Grandma looked at Alex helplessly, she patted his back as he choked on tea.
"Seriously what is going on with you today? I think that's enough tea for you." She said, once again wiping his tea.
"I'm sorry I'm just ..whatever.Akira what did you say ?" He shifted the subject back to Akira.
Akira watched him in amusement, his face was so stunned he resembled a gaping fish. Akira's shoulder shook as she giggled.
"I was just saying hi. And how are you grandma? It's been a while since we last saw each other." She smiled softly at her, to which Grandma Lou just looked at her quizzically.
This was unexpected.
Alex still could not get over his shock, he blinked his eyes multiple times. Even pinched himself to check if he was dreaming.
This wasn't her usual behavior. Alex was certain something was wrong with her but it made him wonder if she was plotting something, maybe she wanted something.
He nodded his head to the latter. It was a possibility.
But as much as he hated to admit, she was gorgeous and cute. Alex quickly discarded his gaze, her appearance might have changed but Alex found it hard to believe her personality changed too, she was still the same old nasty Akira. If riled her up enough, she will show her true colors. But there was a problem.
Alex's eyes drifted to Ethan's stony face and Ethan's eyes met his. Alex shivered and dropped his gaze first. Never mind bad idea.
"So what were you guys talking about?" Akira smirked, leaning back on her chair. She lifted a delicate eyebrow.
Alex and Grandma Lou kept their silence, what could they say?
The room was extremely awkward, and worse they felt embarrassed for talking bad about her They called her ugly, and now it seems they have just embarrassed themselves.
Not only that but the look Ethan was giving them was murderous.
His body was tense and rigid, his calm expression was just the calm before the storm, looking closely, Alex could see his brother's clenched jaw. He was angry.
Akira held in her laughter, if looks could kill, these two would have been six feet under. Watching Alex's pale face, Akira was sure he would rather be six feet under than face his brother.
"Do you have anything more to say?" Ethan said narrowing his eyes into a glare.
Alex's eyes widened in fear, he smiled nervously- "No .. we have nothing-"
"Yes, we still have some unfinished business that needs to be discussed," Grandma said sternly. Alex whipped his head to his Granma in disbelief. He wanted to die on the spot.
Akira immediately recognized this scene, when Grandma Lou came to the Villa and gave her divorce papers for her to sign, even offering a hefty sum along with it, as long as she signed the papers and stayed away from her grandson. Akira readily agreed but then was stopped by Ethan, he had a major fight with his grandmother. After that, their relationship deteriorated greatly and they never spoke to each other again.
A strong wave of guilt washed over Akira, as the crushing weight of her actions weighed heavily on her shoulders. She was the reason Ethan and his family fought nearly every moment they met. She was the reason Ethan and his family were not on good terms. Akira never experienced family love since her parents were always busy, she valued family above everything.
