My POV

"I assume there's a reason you just can't time travel and tell me to not kill ShadowMoth?" I asked Bunnyx who was getting ready for all of us to go on patrol.

"Yeah, that timeline doesn't work out either. Everything we tried at a different point in time, it comes back to this. This is my last saving grace before it just becomes the new normal." She sighed and I chewed on my lip curiously.

"Why not tell them when I'm from? Maybe they remember something I did."

"I'll tell them when the time is right. Hopefully, it goes smoothly and we get you back home quickly."

"Does that mean-"

"No more questions." She said and I shut my mouth and gave a little salute. She has her reasons and only she knows the timeline. Rosie and Juleka went West, Marinette and Adrian went east, Nino and Alya went North, Ryuko and Zoe stayed behind, while Alix and I went South.

"Can everyone hear me ok?" Ryuko asked and a bunch of 'yes' flooded the chat before I whispered a yup, loud enough for everyone to hear me.

"Don't worry, relax." Zoe offered words of encouragement as the line went silent unless someone needed to check in or update their progress.

"I'm keeping Kim busy!" Nino shouted over the coms while I heard Ryuko keeping tabs on where Pegasus and Viperion were and having the other teams distract them.

"Coast is clear Bunny, but better hurry."

At Alix's asking, I focused on the window that was our only clue as to who ShadowMoth was. Despite wanting to see if I knew the location, I agreed and kept my eyes locked on as we entered a broken area of the window.  I stopped, despite the darkness as my heart wanted to escape from my body. There were two dried puddles of blood. No doubt one from me killing ShadowMoth, and one from...

"Don't dwell on something that we're hoping never happens," Alix said and I nodded taking a deep breath and looking around the room, seeing that it was clean and almost empty. There wasn't anything here that could tell us what exactly was the cause, only a desk with a few papers and a little box. Opening it up I gasped, seeing the guitar picks that I once made him. I smiled softly before placing it back gently and began searching more.

"Bunny...I wonder-" Alix looked at me and put a finger over her mouth before I saw a shadow outside the window. We must have missed the com message that they lost Max because a portal had opened up and he stepped through before looking around. BunnyX hid in a closet while I hid behind the desk.

"Someone's here." Max chuckled and I cursed, knowing I left the box open. I looked towards the closet to see BunnyX coming out with her hands up, a frown on her face.

"Max... "

"Well If it isn't Alix. What brings you here?" He scoffed and I held my breath, hoping I wasn't shaking too badly as I peeked around the corner of the desk to see Alix standing where I couldn't be seen. "We don't want to talk, and you know that. Luka wants A-"

"Max, please." Alix's voice nearly shouted and I realized it was because Max would have said something not safe for me to hear. I took a sigh and stood up, walking over to them.

"Whose your little-" Max stopped once I stepped into the light. "N-No your dead." Max panicked and his eyes dropped to exactly where I was standing.

"Bali, Scales in," I whispered and de-transformed, Bali tucking safely in my coat pocket. "Hi Max, you've grown," I said, tilting my head sadly as he pulled his glasses down a little bit. His eyes widened in surprise, a single tear fell down his face.
