𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 is very wrong. The light in your apartment window is turned off. Leo never turns it off, and when he does, you normally see the tv on. But from what you can tell, it's pitch black in there.

After getting inside the building and reaching your door, you unlocked it. Just as you opened the door, a hand grabbed you and pushed you hard into the kitchen, making your back hit the cabinet, and causing you to lose balance, but not fall.

You flicked on the kitchen light so you could see, and what you saw next shocked you.

There were three men. One standing next to the door, another on your left, and the last one across the room, holding your brother, who was bruised and beaten. The men had dark clothing on, and you could only see their eyes, while their mouths and noses were covered up with masks.

This didn't feel real. It had to be a dream, but unfortunately, you knew it wasn't.

So, you remained calm, kept your breathing steady, and focused. You raised your hands in the air, while you moved further into the kitchen. "Listen, we don't have much. All the savings we have are in the bank, that's where you'll be able to find the money you want."

"We don't want any money. We want your quirk." Huh?

"I- I'm sorry, you must have me confused with someone else. I don't have a quirk." You said, speaking as calmly as you could. "Quit lying. We know who you are, _______. Who you really are. Give up your quirk or the boy gets it."

The man holding your brother remarked, escalating the situation. You moved slowly, backing away from the men, and towards the oven behind you.

"Listen, I don't have a quirk. I've lived all my life without one. So, please let us go-" Suddenly, one of the men grabbed your arm. Using your free hand, you picked up the pan from the stove, splashing the water on the man.

He froze for a moment, now soaked, before going to attack you again. "The water's cold, you dumb bit-"

You smacked him across the face with the pan, causing him to stumble backward, hitting his head against the wall and knocking himself out.

The man near the door lunged at you, and just before he could reach you, you grabbed a knife from the cutting block, stabbing his hand and pinning it to the table. He screamed out in pain, and you pulled the knife out, stabbing him in the leg this time. Angry and bleeding profusely, he pushed you hard, causing you to hit the wall,  before activating his quirk.

It's some sort of laser quirk, where he shot the beams from his eyes. The beams burned your fingers and your legs, making you cry out. Luckily, it didn't too much damage, but it did hurt. You hid behind some furniture, before grabbing the pan you dropped, and using it to reflect the beam at him, causing him to hit himself in the eyes and let out a pained scream.

You got to your feet, preparing to face your final opponent. A rather large man, who was holding your brother. With a sadistic snarl, he broke your brother's arm, causing him to scream and collapse.

Angry and provoked, you charged at him, and he shoved your brother aside, going to attack you as well. You know how to fight. You have to if you want to survive without a quirk. That's what your father told you, at least.

He's bigger and appears to be slower, which you can use to your advantage. He swung at you, and you dodged, giving him a rough punch to the stomach. That managed to throw him off, causing him to double over slightly and hiss in pain.

You took advantage of the opening he gave you, punching him across the face. You moved to hit him again, but he grabbed your arm while you were mid-motion, slamming it and you against the wall.

He was gripping your arm tightly, and you had seen his strength from what he did to your brother. He broke his arm like a toothpick. You didn't want that happening again, so, you kicked him between the legs.

He groaned in pain, loosening his grip enough for you to slip out of it. There's no way you could win this fight with hand-to-hand combat. He was too strong. You needed a weapon.

Before you could find anything, he grabbed you by your hair, pulling you back and slamming your head against the wall. His grip slipped from your hair to your throat, and you struggled against him.

"Let her go!" Your brother exclaimed, conscious again and sprinting at the man, punching him with his good arm. The man pushed your brother off with ease, waving him off like he was a fly.

His hand grew pale, and there was some strange feeling about it. It felt like it was sucking the life force out of you, and you felt yourself start to grow tired. Really, really tired.

Your eyes fluttered, as the world started to go dark and blurry. You couldn't hear, couldn't see, couldn't breathe, you felt numb. Are you dying? Are you dead?

Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and the next thing you knew, the feeling was gone, and the man had released you. You coughed and wheezed, gasping for air, as your senses came back to you.

There are multiple aches and pain in your body, but your head and throat hurt the most. Probably because it's the most recent and painful injuries you received.

Readjusting to your surroundings, you remembered where you were and what was happening. Once again, it was dark, the kitchen light must've been turned off in all the chaos, but you heard punching and grunts of pain.

Thankfully, those noises didn't sound like they were coming from your brother, but rather the men you had previously fought.

Suddenly, there was a hand in front of your face. You looked up, seeing a blonde man offering it to you. You were unable to make out any distinguishing features due to how dark it was. All you knew was that he wasn't one of the men who attacked you.

So, you took his hand.
