𝐋𝐄𝐎 was screaming. You couldn't tell where he was. You gazed around in the dark frantically, following his voice.

"Leo? Leo? I'm here. Where are you?" You called. There was silence, before you heard him call your name, softer this time, but pained.

You sprinted through the darkness as you heard another scream, reaching around for him, trying to find him, to save him. He wasn't there. You couldn't feel anything. You couldn't protect him.

Suddenly, you were choking, unable to breathe. A hand wrapped around your throat, strangling you, making you feel so week like it had that night. It was the same man from before, taking your life force, and this time, there was no one there to save you. You were desperate, kicking him, scratching his arms.

Right as you felt yourself lose consciousness, you heard your father's voice. "Protect yourself."

"What?" You wheezed between coughs and gasps, gazing behind the man choking you to see a shadowy figure in the distance. Your father?

The figure distorted, into something you couldn't recognize. Someone you couldn't recognize.

"Protect yourself." They repeated in a different, unfamiliar voice

You fought and fought, until you were tired, until you felt your life force drain, until the darkness was almost completely drowning you. All your physical strength was gone. There had to be another way. You had to survive. You had to do something.

So you did.

--

You woke up in your bed, screaming. Bakugou came rushing in, ready to protect you and fight, but when he saw that it was just you, he lowered his guard, coming to your side. Tears were falling down your face as you sat up straight, panting softly. Bakugou reached out to touch you, and you flinched.

"Hey, hey, it's just me. You're okay." His voice was soft. You looked over at him, unable to stop your sobs. He wrapped his arms around you, holding you close. "It was just a bad dream. I'm here. You're safe."

"It- it felt so real. It felt like I was dying, and-" You paused, gazing over at the window, watching the curtains flutter from the breeze outside. It was weird. Your window had to be closed and locked shut, as safety protocol for the building.

Bakugou stepped away from you, pulling back the curtains and cracks lining the window, a massive hole at the center. There was no one outside. No noise, no sound of glass breaking. How did this happen?

"Maybe it was a bird or something?" You tried to reason, hoping, praying that it was that and nothing else.

"Maybe." He muttered, pulling the curtain shut. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm..I'm better now." You took a deep breath, wiping the tears away. You shrugged as you gazed over at the window. "It's probably been broken for a while, now. I mean, my room has been colder, tonight it just fully broke or something."

"Probably. But I don't want you sleeping alone right now. Come stay in my room." You gazed over at the clock, realizing that it was only two in the morning. You sighed softly, rubbing your eyes.

"You sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure. C'mon." You followed him over to the bedroom.

You sat on the edge of the bed, while he burrowed through his closet, grabbing a blanket and spare pillow. "I'll take the floor and-"

"What? No way. It's your bed. I should take the floor." You stopped him.

"No. You're not sleeping on the floor, especially not after the night you've had." He refused.

You groaned at his stubbornness, too tired for this. "How about we share the bed?"

He paused, gazing at the bed, and then at you. If you didn't know any better, you would say he's nervous. "You're okay with that?"

"Yeah, honestly, I'm too tired to care. So just- get in here, okay?" You lied back on his bed, tucking yourself under the blanket.

"Okay." He got into the bed, on the other side. You lied on your side, facing the wall, unable to look at him, trying to give him some space. You were really sharing a bed with Bakugou. You didn't know how to feel about it.

You tried your best to ignore all the tempestuous thoughts crossing your mind, eventually falling back asleep.

--

You awoke the next morning to the feeling of Bakugou's arms around you. You knew that either way, you'd wind up touching each other. The man was huge, after all. He took up almost the whole bed. However, you didn't expect him to be touching you like this, his arms around your waist, your head resting against his chest.

He smelled good, sweet like caramel, smoky like a fire, and a little like pine too. You found yourself enjoying his touch, basking in it. It made you feel safe. He made you feel safe.

You gazed up at him, feeling the steady rise and fall of his chest against you. He looked so peaceful sleeping, his eyes shut, mouth opened slightly, letting out small puffs of breath. You were close enough to notice some slight stubble growing on his chin. Cute.

Then, you realized what you were thinking, what you had been doing, and who you were doing it with. This was bad. This was very, very bad.

You slowly pulled yourself out of his grip, moving to leave his bed. He muttered something under his breath, reaching out for you, feeling the emptiness in the bed. You left before he could wake up and notice.

You brought your knees to your chest, hugging them. Fuck. Shit. Damn it. This was the last thing you needed right now. Out of all the craziness in your life, the last thing you could do was develop feelings for someone. Especially someone like Bakugou.

"I don't have feelings for him. I'm just touch deprived and horny, and it felt nice to be held by someone. That's all." You muttered to yourself, grabbing your flushed face. "Get a grip."

Another cool draft blew softly from the widow, making you shiver. Now that it was day, you could see the damage of the window. It was completely shattered. How did that even happen?

You feel like you're going crazy. Unfortunately, you're sane.

The sanest you've ever been.
