Dani ran to her room after her mom had gotten done punishing her. She was crying heavily as she locked her door and got under her blanket, covering her ears.
She hated this part. Hearing her twin brothers cries as he got punished as well was absolutely heart breaking.
A few minutes pass and Dani uncovers her ears, she heard nothing but silence so she got up and unlocked her door to peak out. Her vision was blurred from tears so she blinked them out, waiting a little longer until she saw her twin, Jax, come around the corner walking up to her room door. She silently widened her door so her teary eyed twin can walk in and closed it after he entered. As soon as he entered she pulled him into a tight embrace, rubbing his back softly to sooth him. "I'm so.. so sorry.." she whispered, her voice shaky and breaking mid sentence. "Don't be. It's not your fault, dani." He said while crying softly into her shoulder.
Dani took a deep breath before pulling away, she led him to her bed and made him sit down, she sat next to him.
Their mom had gone through dani's room the day prior and found some handwritten lyrics that her and her brother had come up with. Dani and Jax loved making music together, it was the main interest they shared, along with both of them secretly finding Satanism quite interesting.
When their mother had found their music, she thought of it as some sort of "devil worship". They had gotten punished countless times in the past but this time was worse, leaving darker marks and having their father even help. "We- we gotta get out of here. We are adults for fucks sake, Jax! We can't just sit here and let them continue to do this to us. We are leaving tonight."
