Chapter 13

After the little show the militants put on everyone is running. Usagi and I get split up and I see her go after Asahi to help her up.

"Let's split up and find him." I yell to her, and she understands. By he I mean Arisu, but I really don't want the militants knowing exactly where I am going.

With everyone running I just had to focus on getting away from the militants first, then I could search.

They were serious about killing us, and they know the layout of this place better than I do.

I first have to find a weapon, I know I am going to face them at some point, just I don't know when. I stumbled across a dead militant and grabbed his gun. Hiding down a hall when I hear footsteps, if I ever see Niragi I am going to kill him.

Well try, I don't have much experience with a gun so we'll see.

People are dead left and right as I walk through the halls, I listen for any noises from the rooms but I still haven't been able to find Arisu.

Walking around I look out a window and see someone shooting down at the people

My best bet is to stay inside and find people who I can trust. Not many, many Mira and Ann. Well Mira still creeps me out but she's getting better.

Door after door and I still haven't found him, I should go talk to Usagi and inform her that he isn't in the area.

The only question is where is she.

I hear the fire alarm going off, and look outside a window to see where it's coming from, no sign of it.

Maybe the lab would be a good place to start, Ann could find out who the killer is with her forensics. Or that's where the fire is.

Ugh where do I go? The main building.

That's where we weren't able to check because we were being chased. Maybe he's there. I think and run towards the main building.

It's probably swarming with militants.

Well best get moving, some people were wary near me since I have a gun, but maybe because I haven't shot them they are okay with me.

I haven't run into Kuina yet, maybe that's a good thing.

I run by the lobby and see Ann grabbing the knife from the body.

"Ann!" I call.

"Oh, y/n. Do you have a moment?"

"Uhhh, as long as you aren't the witch." I say smiling keeping a small distance.

"You know I'm not, come on." She says walking away.

I follow behind quickly.

There's 30 minutes left to the clock and Ann is still working on the fingerprints.

We were in a room only light source was a lamp for her to tell who's fingers were on the knife.

"I got it." She suddenly said and started running off, leaving me sitting there.

"Hey wait up!" I call after her and start running. Then I hid behind a pillar because I heard footsteps. Ann was hit over the head and the two militants walked away talking about how they had to keep on going.

When I thought they left I race over to her, a second too soon.

I hear a gunshot ring in the air. I am on the ground, it got my leg and I am useless in helping Ann get to the body.

My face is away from them so they didn't see what they hit and walked away.

Damn it, right as my other one healed into a scar.

I'm surprised they didn't take us to the fire. Maybe they are tired. I slowly pick myself up. As a scream in pain from standing on my right leg. I picking Ann up, and slowly start making our way to the lobby.

We have a ways to go, but if we don't get the evidence and Ann doesn't tell them, no one will believe us.

My breathing was staggered and my vision was starting to blur, I was pushing myself too hard right now. But if we didn't make it, everyone might die.

Kuina showed up. "Ann, y/n!"

"Ah Kuina," Ann says now full awake. I hand Ann to Kuina and lean on the wall as we walk and she explains what happened. We made it to the lobby it was completely silent, Asahi had given herself up as the dealer of the game.

"It was a reverse grop." Ann tells everyone. "Fingerprints with a reverse grip were found on the knife. She said holding it up.

I lean on the wall and slide down tying a shirt I found over the wound. It was all I could do for now.

Kuina and I still haven't talked, well I haven't responded to her.

"She's the witch." Everyone looks at the three of us, I get it we've been through shit but someone throw the girl's body in the fire.

"Aguni, let's stop this. Don't let the deaths of the innocents go to waste." Arisu pleads, he looks like he's been through worse than us. "I understand how it feels to kill your friends. But we shouldn't take our frustration out on those alive. Don't look down on those who are still alive!" He is shouting now.

Everyone looks at each other, Aguni seems to understand now.

"The fire is spreading!" Someone shouts.

"Run!" Another one.

"Move the body to the fire of judgment quickly." I yell pushing myself up.

Gunshots echo throughout the lobby, a figure walks slowly towards the room.

"In the first place, I should've just burned the Beach down." Niragi says. But it doesn't really look like him anymore. He starts shooting and throws his fire stick.

Everyone is running. But we have to get that body to the fire.

I get up and I run, I don't know if it is adrenaline, or another force, but I run the opposite way Usagi is and she jumps on him.

I go for the legs trying to knock him over.

He throws Usagi off his shoulder and she crashes into Arisu. I hop on his shoulder now trying to affect his aim as he aims for my friends.

Aguni starts rushing him. I try jumping off but Niragi grabs onto me keeping me there.

"Oh princess, we go down together." He says still shooting at Aguni. I nod to Aguni and he understands to keep running.

Our bodies collide and he picks us off the ground, I fall off after both of us are shoved into a wall.

Aguni and niragi continue their fight as I try to get up.

Shit they are leaving me, never mind Usagi is coming to my rescue.

She helps me up and we start walking out of the building seeing the congratulations notification on our phones.

Then we leave the beach and watch it burn. She sets me on the ground and I am out cold.
