As the Jiang's and Wei ying were going up the hill that led to the cloud recesses, Jiang Cheng suddenly said. "Wei Wuxian, bring me the invitation, now!". As he said that, he turned around to face Wei Wuxian."but Jiang Cheng, I wasn't the one responsible for the invitation".He said softly." So you're saying you don't have it?". "well, yes". He said while coming a little closer to hear Jiang Cheng better. "Well?! What are you doing still standing there? Go get them!". " But I don't know where they are". Jiang Cheng looked like he was about to explode from anger, but tried to calm himself down. " Ok, we will go without the invitation". He said almost to calm for Wei Ying's liking, but went along with him, after all, Jiang Cheng's anger issues were nothing new to him.

Once they got there and tried entering, one of the two guards went in front of Jiang Cheng who was standing at the front as the heir, with Jiang Yanli right behind him, being his sister, to prevent him from advancing any further.

"Young master Jiang, do you have an invitation?". He asked while bowing." Well not know,you see we seem to have lost our invitation, could you please make an exception?". Asked Jiang Cheng, his voice fakely sweet, which made Wei Ying almost laugh at the fakeness.

"We are sorry but one must have an invitation to be allowed to enter the Cloud Recesses, it is one of our most known rules". The guard answered respectfully." But can't you make this one exception?". Jiang Cheng asked, his voice a little sharper than the awfully fake sweet voice he was using not even a minute ago. " We are sorry Young Master, but we cannot break the rules of Cloud Recesses."

At this point, you could practically see the anger in his eyes, even if he tried to hide it under a fake smile. "Wei wuxian, go find the invitation". Said Jiang Yanli as she turned to face him. Wei ying sighed, but still nodded his head. " Ok ". He simply said as he turned around and began going back to where they had come from, but even when it had gone dark, indicating that he had been searching for a few hours already, he still hadn't been able to find the invitation. He decided that at this point, he would just go back and deal with Jiang Cheng's scolding.

However, when he finally came back, he saw no traces of the Jiang's anywhere, he soon enough came to the conclusion that they had somehow managed to get inside the Cloud Recesses, but just in case, Wei Ying had to check, because god forbid the punishments that Madam Yu would give him if she knew that he had lost Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli.

But the only problem was that, he couldn't go from the main entrance as it was obviously sealed, and very much closed. So seeing no other option, he had decided to climb over the wall of the Cloud Recesses. It wasn't that difficult, but once he managed to get to a roof, he was startled to see a figure standing right in front of him, surprised, he almost fell, but was able to catch himself. "Gosh! You scared me- oh, hello Young Master Lan." He said with a smile, recognizing the person before him as Lan Zhan, the second younger brother of the Jade brothers, but he only stared at Wei Ying with a emotionless expression.
"After curfew". As he said this, Wei Ying stood there, confused." What?". Asked Wei Ying, slightly raising his eyebrow." It is after curfew in the Cloud Recesses". Said Lan Zhan once again, more clearly." Oh so there is a curfew? Anyways, my name is Wei Ying, courtesy name Wei Wuxian, you must be Lan Zhan, courtesy name Lan Wangji, right?" He asked with a bright smile, that for the first time in quite a while, was genuine.

Lan Zhan simply nodded before speaking again." Broke curfew, must be punished". Feeling confused, Wei ying asked." Punish? You're not going to punish me now right?". He asked, as he was quite tired from all the searching he had done." Not now, tomorrow at 6." He answered." The evening?". "Morning". " What?! But that is so early!". But Lan Zhan didn't seem to care." Quiet, people are sleeping". He said, and Wei Ying realized he had been talking in a rather loud voice." Oh, right, I'm sorry about that, but please Lan Zhan have mercy, I don't want to have to wake up so early". He said while giving Lan Zhan his best puppy eyes, which didn't seem to working his favor, but for Lan Zhan, although it wasn't visible, was a little shocked. No one had ever even dared to call him by his given name, not even his brother and uncle, so it took Lan Zhan a quick second to recover from the shock, and even felt himself blushing for some reason in the slightest way, and he had hoped that the younger had not noticed.

But he was sadly mistaken, as Wei Ying saw it, and Wei Ying being Wei Ying, decided to even tease him, realizing that it was because he had called him Lan Zhan, his given name." Aww, are you blushing Lan Zhan?". He teased, once again calling him by his given name." No". He said, so perfectly that Wei Ying almost didn't notice the slight stutter, and Wei Ying thought it was one of the cutest things he had ever seen."Anyways, do I really have to be ready at 6? It is so early in the morning". There was a silence as Lan Zhan seemed like he was thinking about it." Library, 7". He finally said as he turned away, and that was enough for Wei Ying to consider Lan Zhan as his first friend in cloud recesses.
