It’s impossible not to notice a pretty girl. Whether man or woman, young or old, an attractive being catches attention. It’s just a fact of life.
Especially when that girl has bright, electric blue hair.
So the big, mean man followed her and offered her ‘candy’.
Being an extremely oblivious twelve year old, she followed him.
And not too long after, a scream could be heard from the depths of Tokyo.
Yes, go on, say it. We all want to.
‘Miki you stupid bitch!’
A tall boy with golden green eyes sat perched on the roof of someone’s house for no apparent reason. He heard the scream and ran towards the location of the sound.
Yes, yes, the cliched case of a boy running to save a girl in his class.
Nothing special.
But at a time like this, there’s always a catch.
This boy wasn’t human. You know how Mowgli was raised by wolves?
This boy didn’t need to be raised to become one.
The source of the scream was a miles away. He heard it and got to it in less than two minutes.
And when he got there, that mean ol’ man didn’t see what was coming at him.
It took him seven seconds to pin the man to the ground, three to break his arms, two for the back,
three for the neck.
The man died within 15 seconds.
And the police only saw Ben’s side of the attack.
When they saw that an eleven year old managed to kill a middle aged man five times his size, they sort of realized they had no choice.
‘Kid, you’re going to jail.’

That was almost two years ago, back when he was in the 6th grade. He was now thirteen and began to look more and more like his mother day by day. His hair was turning red from the amount of time he spent in the sun, his skin a pale golden tan, and he had the most striking green eyes imaginable. With these features and his abominable height (of 5’10”), he was hard to ignore. He grasped the attention of everyone wherever he went.
And he hated it.
He hated people; hated girls, boys, adults, children, old people.
Sometimes he hated his own best friends.
He definitely hated his father and stepmother and stepbrother.
And hated himself the most.
He hated the fact that he didn’t manage to save his real brother from his life with that twisted ass.He hated the fact that he just stood and watched while his mother was being murdered.
And he hated how he couldn’t manage to save her.
So, being as antisocial as he is, his current life was now altered and only made worse.
It was his first day at this school. He just moved here the other day.
From Tokyo to San Diego.
In the middle of the semester.
‘Everyone, say hi to Ben. He will be your classmate from now on.’
And as the teacher said that, a girl with long, dark brown hair toppled off of her chair. Without even thinking, he lunged forwards and grabbed her wrists.
His heart began to malfunction when he realized who she was.
The girl he couldn’t save.
The girl who lost everything because of him.
It was her.
It was Myles.
