"You have someone else in your mind..."

For the first time, she felt like he was truly a villain. His voice sounded like a crazy man. His blue eyes, which were originally gentle, felt cold and even more chilly.

She regretted what she just said. She thought it would have been better if she just kept her mouth shut.

As soon as she unknowingly stepped back and widened the distance between them, he smiled softly.

His expression looked very unhappy.

"Delisha, that's a very bad lie."

"I'm not lying."

A cold sweat seemed to be flowing from her body.

"I know you don't have a fiance or lover."

The distance between him and her that she accidentally created was narrowed in an instant with one step from him.

He got even closer than before, to the point where her efforts were in vain.

"So, don't think about getting out of this mess using that as an excuse."

Without realising it, she took a step backward and found her back touching the wall. Now there was no place to escape.

He slowly approached her. She wondered why she felt bad when he looked angry.

"That's right. I'm not engaged to him, nor am I his lover."

Ian looked at her with confused eyes.

He stopped walking towards her when he saw how uncomfortable her reaction was when he approached her.

She just decided to be honest. After all, it's a pure lie that she has someone she loves. This is all just a made-up story to make him give up, even though it didn't seem like he was going to give up.

Because she didn't want to get married without love, even if she needed to get married, she already thought that she would marry someone who had a lot of knowledge about Islam.

The love she was talking about was not physical love but spiritual and mental love.

"I've been waiting for him for a long time."

She spat out the lie again.

She thinks it would be better if she were honest, but maybe he would give up if he knew that she has someone in mind.

Before talking, she was so scared and nervous, but after she uttered the words, she felt relieved.

But what he said after listening to her was a strong denial of her words.

"You're lying, aren't you?"

"Do I look like someone who would lie about this?"

"Say it's a lie!"

It was the first time he raised his voice when talking to her.

Perhaps he was surprised that he shouted, so he covered his face with his hands and spoke in a genuine tone.

"I'm sorry I yelled."

She didn't say anything.

"...But, now you're telling me that you refuse to marry me because you have the man you like?" He added.

Why does he have a look in his eyes of deep pain? The look in his eyes almost weakened her.

It was not an angry or frightened look, so his eyes that swallowed his anger were more compatible with him.

The look in his eyes that indicated he had been hurt was very strange.

"Answer me, Delisha."

"Yes."
