Chapter 28: The World May End

Hazel

I walked Percy away from the group.

"Percy. Paul is in Rome" I started "we saw him touring your school around. And he had bad news." I stopped looking at his face

"What?" Percy asked

"It's. it's. um. It's your mom." I barely got out.

"What what about her." He asked frantically

"She's dead. Gaea killed her." I said and his face fell. "I'm so sorry Perce." I pulled him into a hug. He hugged back really hard. I could hear him crying into my shoulder but I didn't mind. Even the strongest of heroes have a breaking point. He suddenly pulled away, his eyes full of rage.

"I'm going to get revenge so hard and your going to help me."

"You bet" I said "Annabeth was IMing your stepdad. He is in Rome"

One answered. I never thought of her being dead" he said

I Asked him if he was ok he nodded back. We walked back to he group. I nodded to Jason showing that Percy was fine-ish. Annabeth came back and ran to Percy. They were in such a tight hug Percy started to cough. "Annabeth. Your. Choking. Me." he choked out

She released him slowly and the cavern shook.

"How is it that every freakin time I do something to stop you kids, you guys some how figure out my plans and stop them. You gods be damned kids."

Gaea. I honestly couldn't believe her. I just started to laugh and pretty soon we all were. The cavern shook again and I heard a scream. Piper fell through the floor. "Wait guys" I said thinking of an idea

"I don't think the prophecy is complete yet. Piper is missing and this time we saw it happen."

"Alright. Frank les go." Jason said

"Go where?" Frank asked

"Did not think of that one."

"You might get a hint from somewhere." Percy said "just walk around and look for suspicious characters." They nodded and left.

Me and Annabeth walked towards Percy. His eyes looked broken and his face sullen I put my hand on his shoulder and sighed. To my surprise he pulled me into a hug. We stood there hugging for a minute then he and Annabeth made out. Making me uncomfortable. But I let them go ahead. Sammy and Leo just stood there awkwardly. I knew frank wasn't thrilled about leaving me alone with Leo and Sammy. Of course but things had to be done. Sacrifices must be made.

"Alright down to business." Sammy said

"What" I said "Sammy were not just going to go with you to Gaea."

"But you will"

"Says who?" I challenged

"Says this." Sammy took a hammer from his tool belt. Walked towards Leo and hit him in the back of the head making him crumple to the floor. "Ow" Sammy cried "what just happened?"

"You hit Leo and it hurt you too" Annabeth stated.

"Damn. How am I supposed to hurt him. Oh we'll new victim." He eyed each of us and his eyes landed on me.

"Hazel Levesque. It's been a while. How's your second life. You know. You still could come with me. Forget the silly quest which is destined to fail."

He had a point. I felt my body and parts of my mind believing him. Wanting to go with him. Leave all this behind. But my sane part was denying it.

'Hazel" I heard someone say taking me from my thoughts. It was Leo. Sammy had a knife to his own throat. "Don't listen to him"

"Will you be quiet. I need you out of my way do that I can join the quest." Sammy said with a smile

"Not going to happen" I said

"Leave us alone. Go back to Gaea.

Sammy dug the knife deeper into Leo's neck drawing blood. He winced but tried to hide it. "Sammy you don't have to do this. What happened to the boy I fell in love with? He was kind gentle sweet. Not evil. What happened sammy? Please come back to me Sammy."

I ran up to him and kissed him making him drop Leo and the knife and he kissed me back. He pulled me closer wrapping his arms around my waist deepening the kiss.

I know I'm only thirteen but hey. I got a live some. The world may end.

"Hazel?" Sammy said letting go.

"What happened?" He touched his face. "I'm dead. What? Why

Aren't I in the underworld?"

"You don't remember that?" Percy asked. Sammy shook his head. "That's to too bad" Percy said laughing a bit with his crooked smile. I couldn't help but smirk.

"You were working with Gaea." Annabeth said

"What? When? How?!" He cried

"I don't know. You tried to kill yourself though. Or Leo. You. Um. I'm so confused." I said no completely sure of what I said

"We can only hope that Jason and Frank have a clue why there doing and that thy find Piper." Percy said and I couldn't agree more.

"So what did the prophecy say?" I asked

"Lightning and the boar will save the dove who'll disappear to the love" Annabeth recited.

"Any idea where the land of love is?" I asked

"No idea. Um." Annabeth started to think "There used to be a story about a Calypso." Percy's face fell again

"Ok. Any idea where she is?" I asked

"I thought it can never be found." Percy said but I had a feeling he was just trying to stall

"Annabeth" I said "can you IM Jason and Frank tell them to come back here." She nodded

While she was busy with that I asked Percy "do you know Calypso or something?"

"Maybe. Ok yes. I ended up there after I blew up Mnt. St. Helens when I was 15. She is supposed to fall in love with every man who came to her island. And I almost stayed but I didn't for Annabeth." She explained

"15? What the Pluto Percy!" I whispered yelled

"Sorry! Ill never do it again! Gods you sound like my mom and Annabeth. Oh shit. Annabeth doesn't know about Calypso." He said

Before I could reply Annabeth walked over and said the IM wouldn't go through.

I almost forgot about Leo and Sammy because they were just talking to each other quietly.

"Lets do this thing!" Nico said

Alright. So we were going to get Piper, Jason and Frank need to get their asses back here . And we were gonna kick Gaea's ass!

Easier said then done, right?

Shouldn't be that hard, should it?
