"Come on. It'll be fun"
"Fun? Last time we took the jeep, I got grounded. Matter of fact, I just got ungrounded"
"Lei, I promise, I won't let you get in trouble again" Eli Hale pleads, and the brunette girl lets out a heavy sigh, continuing to walk down the hallway of Beacon Hills High School. "I don't know, Eli" she says, pessimistic. Eli let's out a loud groan, earning looks from other students in the hallway.
"Come on, Leila, live a little!"
Leila Raeken stops, and turns toward her best friend friend since birth, with an eyebrow raised. "You say that every time, and yet I still get in trouble"
"Please?" Eli gives her the puppy dog eyes. She rolls her eyes and looks away, but he steps into her vision. "Eli," she groans, and the Hale boy smirks, knowing he won. Because she can never say no to his puppy dog face. "This is going to get me trouble again, isn't it?" She asks him, and he shakes his head.
"I'll take the fall"
"You said that last time!" Leila exclaims, and he laughs, taking the books from her hands and carrying them for her. "At least if we go down, we go down together"
She rolls her eyes and follows him down the hallway.

Leila reluctantly follows Eli through the parking lot of Hale Automotive, looking around herself to make sure Derek or anyone else were following them. Eli lifts the cover that's over the jeep and then turns back to look at his best friend.
He takes notice of her nervousness, smiling to himself. He thinks it's cute. "Stop looking like that"
"Like what?" The brunette girl questions. "Like we're about to steal a car" he deadpans, and she laughs slightly. "Eli, we are about to steal a car" she points out and he rolls his eyes playfully. "I know. But don't make it look so obvious. Now, come on" Eli says, before disappearing underneath the cover.
Leila reluctantly climbs into the passenger seat and Eli starts the jeep, driving out of the parking lot with ease. The only thing the two teenagers didn't take into consideration as they sped down the road in the stolen jeep, was Deputy Parrish sitting in his patrol car on another street they passed.
__
Carried away with singing whatever song was on the radio, the two didn't notice the two cop cars that pulled behind them at the red light. Leila always had fun with Eli, but more recently, things felt different between them.
Things had changed, and she wasn't quite sure what it was. The girl found herself always wanting to be with him, and when she was away from him, she felt empty. He made her whole. She chalked it up to him just being her best friend. But deep down she knew the truth, and she'd never admit it.
She'd developed a crush on her best friend. One that she thought would go away as the weeks passed. But it hadn't. It was only getting stronger. Her eyes lingered on his smiling face from the passenger seat. His smile is one of her favorite things about him.
Suddenly, the light turned green. Eli stepped on the gas, but the jeep didn't move. It was then, that Leila noticed the sheriffs cruiser behind them and she groaned. They were busted.
Eli and Leila quickly jumped out of the jeep. Leila rounding the front of the jeep just in time to see Derek Hale eyeing his claws before they retract, and Theo Raeken leaning against the drivers side door of his truck.
"I'm not paying for those!" Eli exclaims, motioning to the tires that Derek clawed. "Oh, yes you are" Derek says. The two teenagers take notice of Sheriff Stilinski and Deputy Parrish standing behind Derek and Leila puts her head down.
"What's up guys?" Eli says, trying to break the ice. Leila let's out a sigh, warning Eli's attention.
"Don't be too hard on her. This was all my idea" Eli told Theo, who nods. "I'll see you tomorrow?" Eli asks Leila, turning to her. "Uh, yeah. If I'm not grounded until I'm 30" Leila says before walking toward her dads truck.
Theo goes to speak, but Leila beats him to it. "I know. I know. I'm grounded for a week"
"I was actually going to tell you, that as long as your mom doesn't find out, you're not grounded at all"
✨✨✨
"Theo, she's never going to learn if you don't start punishing her. I can't be the only bad guy!" Jasmine Raeken yells at her husband. Leila sits uncomfortably on the sectional couch in their living room, while her parents argue in the kitchen.
"I figured maybe we should cut her a break. She's doing good in school, she listens. So she gets into a bit of trouble with her friend. We were 15 once" Theo tries to reason. "This is grand theft auto, Theo! And if I remember correctly, you ki-"
"We don't bring that up around her" Theo stays, his voice more firm. "I've changed"
"Regardless. She's 15. I shouldn't be getting phone calls from Mason telling me that my daughter was caught stealing the jeep again with Eli. My husband should've been the one telling me that!" Jasmine yells, and Theo sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.
Leila drowns out the sound of her parents arguing when her phone buzzes in her lap. Looking down at it, she smiles slightly.
Eli: my dad is on this werewolf crap again. Sneaking out. Wanna come with?
Leila typed out a quick response before getting up and heading toward the stairs. "I'm gonna go to my room. You guys obviously have some issues to talk out" Leila says before jogging up the stairs. She locks the door behind her, which isn't unusual.
She throws her bag on the bed before heading toward the window. Anywhere was better than here right now.
