Between us

Chapter 10

I slowly opened my eyes and smiled at the man snoring lightly next to me. Sleeping next to Ryder is like sleeping next to a granite block, a very comfortable one. I softly touched the scar on his chest. I wonder what happened to him, must've been painful.

I sat upright and winced slightly. Yep. I don't think that I can walk today. Ryder woke me up in the middle of the night and we spent the entire night making love.

I looked at the time. It's 10 am! Teresa and Jessica are supposed to come at 10 am today!

I tried to get up but I was tackled back into the warm sheets. "And where do you think you're going Mrs Storm?" He asked and I got goosebumps when his warm breath hit my neck.

"To get ready, Mr Storm. Teresa and Jessica are coming soon."

"Fuck, I forgot. I think we should call and cancel."

I gasped. "We can't do that! They're probably on their way!"

"Their problem, not ours." He said and pinned me to the bed. Memories of last night replayed in my mind and I blushed profusely.

"Don't be rude," I protested but he still kissed me, his kisses going lower. "We should get ready."

He only grunted in response and before I could agree with him, the doorbell rang.

Ryder swore loudly and reluctantly stood up, pulling me up. "Take a shower, I'll keep them busy for the time being."

"Wait, help me to the shower, I can't walk properly." I said and he grinned.
He then helped me to the bathroom and left, but not before giving me another breathtaking kiss.

I quickly took a shower and put on my pink sweatpants and grey sweater with my blue slippers. I dried my hair and tied it into a loose ponytail. Look at me, I look so in love. I applied no makeup and went to Ryder. Slightly wincing with each step obviously.

When I got into the living room, they were all sitting with a cup of tea. I greeted everyone and then Ryder gave me a cup and I took it thankfully. I sat down carefully and Jessica eyed me with a strange look on her face.

Please, not today. Not on this lovely Sunday.

I saw that Teresa had two huge boxes sitting next to her on the sofa and I raised my eyebrows.

"What's in the boxes Teresa?" I asked and she smiled.

"Ah, dear, here are a few baby things for your little one." She said and began to take out some baby clothes, toys, and everything a baby could possibly need.

I excitedly looked through the stuff and even Ryder looked happy. He held up a cute little pink dress and I laughed.

"You're really hoping for a little girl huh?" I asked and he shrugged.

"Of course, why not?" He asked and then he stood up. "Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to buy some groceries." He said and went inside the room to get dressed. He came back looking very handsome in his black jeans, blue turtleneck and black coat with black boots.

He said bye to the other women and gave me a big fat kiss on the lips. "Don't miss me to much." He said and grabbed his car keys and left.

"Oh, it gives me so much joy to see my boy so happy." Teresa said and I smiled happily at her. "And he rarely even talks this much, right Jessy?" She asked Jessica and she nodded.

"Yep, you make him happy Charlie." She said and I'm not sure if she is being honest or not. I simply smiled back at her and yawned unexpectedly.

"Oh you naughty youngsters! I don't know what it is about newlyweds and sleep." Teresa exclaimed and then I blushed.
