"Did the fire cause problems for your business?" I asked sweetly while spreading jam on my toast.

He clenched and unclenched his jaw, and I savored the moment. "Yes, my girls got injured and the building is completely destroyed. That son of a bitch that started the fire better pray that I don't find him."

I put my hand on his and smiled reassuringly, even though I laughed at his pain on the inside. "It'll be okay Dom, we'll figure this out together."

'I know we will, luckily for me, two girls injuries aren't that bad, so they'll still be capable of working. And Lucy and Stacey are still alright." He answered with a smug look on his face.

"But, you said that your building got destroyed, so where-"

"I have a very important client coming today, he could be a possible investor." He began and I began to feel sick. "They can come here to the hideout to conduct business, and if we seal the deal, we can come out of hiding."

"Who exactly is this possible investor?" I asked, my suspicion beginning to grow.

"Mr. Pierce, a big dog here in Germany. With this alliance formed, he can keep us safe from the police and FBI."

Could Noah's father have sent Mr. Pierce here to save us? As far as I've known, Mr. Richwald is a big deal in the dark industry. Hope began to flutter inside me but was soon replaced by pain.

The pain must've flashed across my face because Dominic came forward with concern. "Are you alright, dear?"

I shook my head. "Cramps, and my back is killing me." He helped me get off the chair and walked with me towards my room. Before he could ask me again, I made a dash to the bathroom.

"Lucy?! Come here right now!" I heard Dominic's panicked voice and she came rushing inside the bathroom where I was sitting on the toilet.

"Did your water break?" She asked and checked my temperature.

"No, it's just that my cramps are getting more unbearable each day, and my back is in lethal pain." I said and saw that when I wiped there was a mucusy discharge.

Lucy saw and smiled at me. "Don't worry, this is just an indication that your delivery day is close." I nodded and we went back into my room where Dominic was waiting impatiently on my bed.

"What's wrong?"

"It's normal during the last trimester, she'll just need a lot of rest." Lucy answered and I got into bed feeling sleepy as soon as my head hit the pillow. I could only hear Dominic and Lucy's faint voices and heard them leave my room.

Just when sleep almost clouded my mind, Puppet gave me a beautiful kick right on the bladder. "Easy now, Puppet, you're quite the fighter aren't you?" I whispered and a tear fell from my eye as I remembered Ryder's words a few days before he died.

"I'm gonna have my hands full with the both of you, Puppet, your mother is already crazy and now you are also showing early signs of craziness? Tsk, tsk, tsk." He said after she kicked hard.

"Ah, the great and mighty Ryder afraid of a challenge? That's a first." I joked and he shot me the death-stare. "I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ryder Storm. Your stare doesn't effect me at all anymore."

"May be so, but we both know that I ain't afraid of a challenge. Two crazy people? That's my level of expertise." He said and I swatted his hand away playfully. "I love you, Charlie." He said and gave me a kiss. "And I love you, Puppet." He said and kissed my stomach.

"I love you too, Ryder." I whispered and allowed my tears to fall freely now. Puppet gave another painful kick and I realized that sleeping was useless. I took out the two torn out diary pages and began to read it.
