Chapter 24

*TWS!* Proceed with caution.

"Charlie, wake up. Can you hear me?" Lucy's scared voice trembled in my ears. "Please wake up." 

I wearily opened my eyes and tasted blood in my mouth. "Mmm," my head throbbed and I touched the pounding on my temple. "Lucy? What happened?" I closed my eyes and sat more upright. 

"Mr. Gray, h-he hit you and brought you here in your room." She sobbed and then I remembered what happened. 

How he violently came forward and painfully grabbed my chin. The slap that caused my lip to bleed, and then another blow that made me see black. Tears began to flow as I touched my stomach. 

"Puppet?" I asked Lucy and she tried to smile. 

"She's still safe." 

Only when I really looked at her I could see that she had a black eye and a swollen lip, her clothes were also dirty and torn. I felt cold at the realization. 

"Lucy, did he?" I asked and ignored my throbbing headache and scooted closer to her. "Did Dominic-" 

"It wasn't him." She began to sob again and I gave her a hug and cried with her. "It was his right-hand man, t-they all laughed and watched him do it, t-they called me a slut and when he realized that I was never with a man before, he whispered in my ears, that the second time won't hurt as much, he-" She couldn't continue anymore and cried uncontrollably. 

"It's okay, you don't have to talk about it Lucy." I tried to console her and hugged her tightly. "I'm so sorry, it's all my fault I should've never asked you to help me, I should've never searched his office. I'm very sorry." 

 "It's not your fault, Charlie. It never was, and if I were given a chance again, I wouldn't even hesitate to help you again." She wiped her tears and pulled me up. "Come on take a bath, I'll bring your supper and medicine." 

"Yes, you also take a bath. And you'll sleep in my room from now on." I said and she nodded and winced with each step she took, which only made me feel more guilty. "Lucy," she looked at me, "I promise you that we'll get out of here safely." 

"I know Charlie." She said with sad smile and walked out.

After we ate and I drank my medicine, we both sat by the window and stared into the starry sky. 

"I think we're in Germany." I said and Lucy looked at me in shock. 

"G-Germany?" 

"Yes, I saw a map in his safe with four places marked. San Francisco, New York, Rome and Germany." 

"What makes you so sure that we aren't at one of the other places?" She asked hopefully. 

"It'll be way too dangerous for him to roam around New York and San Francisco, and in Rome Ryder," I took a deep breath, "Ryder had located men all over Rome, on the lookout for him, so it leaves us with Germany." 

"I hope you're right." She said and I looked at her. 

"You know someone in Germany?" 

Before she could answer, the door opened and we both stood up. Dominic walked in and I touched my stomach and shielded Lucy with my body. 

He smirked and then stepped forward. "My men told me that she was quite a treat for the eyes, well, I do have to see that for myself." He said and looked at Lucy with lust in his eyes, and I got cold.
