"The school choir it seems," I thought to myself when I was enrolling; maybe I'll find a few friends.
I'm Reyansh and it was my first day at the new school offline.
I moved to Delhi 2 years back from Mumbai and started online school the previous year.
When my dad got a transfer here I was disappointed leaving all my friends and a girlfriend - who now is my ex.
Coming to an unknown land was already like a burden and 1 year of online schooling with no friends worked as adding fuel to fire.
In my previous school I was really famous and was dating a famous girl too but since I had to leave it was better to break up since both of us weren't that serious …..people said we dated just for fame but it wasn't the case we both felt good about each other and we thought that was love. Well, we moved on and now we do talk to each other from time to time as friends.
But never did I know I would spot the love of my life as soon as I start school. I am a little dramatic so ya love of my life it is.
The choir in charge - Erica introduced me to her friend - Ruhanika and I froze I think there was an awkward silence for 2 minutes too. Was it her looks? I don't know
She was a simple-looking girl and was awkward when she was getting introduced.
She wasn't actually my type but I did feel attracted to her at the very first look and I had never felt this way before for any girl.
Ruhi - I think it was her nickname her cousin called her so.
It was cute, she was cute, and the moment was cute but I don't know how I was smiling throughout because I never really liked cute things.
Did my choice change after moving?
Well, the very next day I started digging about her. Its 2 pm and no one in my class knows a thing about her
Most of them did not even know there was a girl named Ruhanika in our batch.
SHOCKING!
This made me so much more curious about her.
The only way I could know about her was through Erica now.
I saw her from behind and approached her .
"Wanted to ask something about the club?" She asks.
"Ya ya " I answer very awkwardly since it was really not about the club.
"Ya go on," she says.
I made up questions like when the choir meet is? and when will we start practicing and how often do we practice
She answered me very nicely and I asked who all were in the club and then she named Ruhi.
"Was it the girl u introduced me to yesterday? " I asked
She agreed and I knew this is my chance to start knowing about her.
"Both the girls u introduced to me yesterday are cousins?"
"Yesss they live in the same building - all three of us are besties from when we started high school " she replied.
"Oh nice," I said and I wanted to know more but Natania came from behind and asked Erica what was going on
I knew this is the chance - if I want to know more I need to know through her friends and I introduced myself again to Natania.
"Heyy im Reyansh - u remember we met yesterday," I said as I leaned my hand for a handshake.
