Another High School Cliche

Chapter 3 (Pov: Ruhanika)

It was the first time for me. 

Nobody comes sits beside me and talks to me like he was doing.

I felt good. But I knew this was not going to last long.

"So, you were talking a lot with the new admission"

Erica said trying to tease me.

"He did not have anyone to talk to thats it"

"U were smiling a lot," she said.

"What do u mean?"

"Well I mean nothing, it's just nobody talks to people like us and he did and u looked happy so I just mentioned …nothing else." She said.

"He's just a new admission it's probably the first and last time he's talking to me so why bother? " I was a bit annoyed by then 

"Ruhi seeing u annoyed like this means u really are bothered . And ya I know he won't stick around long , we have seen many like them."

I just nodded and we continued walking and she continued telling me the amazing things happening to her now that she is getting outside her shell.

And I just smiled at whatever she was saying.

"I could never do that." I thought to myself …

Erica and I have almost gone through the same things , we were always introverts and we tried to open ourselves .We were in a big group with 9 kids and we were the gang for us that time it was all we needed , that kind of friendship where we enjoyed school a lot… but did not last long they just left us for cooler people - much cooler than we were. They left - and leaving was not a problem but they insulted us every time they got a chance. We were left kind of heartbroken…. in the age where other people used to get heartbroken by their girlfriend or boyfriend we got hurt by our friends or should I say 'so-called friends'. 

And that kicked us back into our shells. 

The next day

 during lunch break

Tania walked towards us with a big smile.

"What's going on? Such a big smile?" I asked.

"So u know what? today during our accountancy period I did some future planning since I was not understanding anything like always……im going to buy 2 dogs just to make them wear sunglasses it will be so cute - puppies wearing sunglasses." Tania replied.

She was always this random …..I have been bearing her for 17 years and she has always been like this but only in front of the few people she is always around .She is a different kind of introvert…. in the outside world no one has heard her talking, and no one has seen her even smiling but with us, she never stops talking and always is in a humorous mood. She is all a person needs to brighten up your mood.

"Wow then I am very sure u must have decided their names too" Erica taunted.

"Oh no I totally forgot about that part …no worries I have another accountancy period" Tania replied And we all bursted laughing. 

"Ruhi we have a meeting today too." Erica reminded.

"Ya I'll be there" I assured.

Did I expect him to be the same as he was last time? Like every other person will it be a one time thing for him too?

Oh boy i was wrong. 

He was waiting for me?

I was shocked but at the same time happy too…weird 

He tried making small talk with me. And as usual I replied with a smile or a nod - it isn’t my fault though I don't know how to talk to other people.

But all I felt was happiness - even though I felt it wouldn't last long I thought about the present and ignored the future.
