Another High School Cliche

chapter 9(pov:Reyansh)

The confession was definitely unplanned and I have no idea what I blabbered
also, I have no idea if it was the right decision.

Why did I have to do it on a Friday??
It's Sunday I haven't talked to her since then I don't know what her reaction was
what the heck I'm so sick of this
be Monday already

I talked to Ved and Shaan and they said it's alright and it's better now than late

I prepared myself well like the worst she could say is no or throw water on me.

*Later that night*

4 hours for school.
Why am I still awake?
I called everyone in the group none of them picked up- the same ones who said to call them whenever u want I'll be there
U,gh such hypocrites.

Finally leaving for school that day I can't describe what I was feeling that day
It was like the hardest day....walking up to the school gate was making me so anxious.

I saw Erica staring me to death. She pulls me aside and goes who is going to tell us ??

"What?"

"Why would u confess without telling us??"

"Did she tell u ?"

"Well she tried to hide it but Ved told us," she said slightly calming herself

"Dont worry she won't throw water on u or something" she continued

How the hell did she know I was worried about that??

Anyway, I asked her what Ruhi's reaction was

"She had no idea about Ur feelings so don't expect anything," Erica said.

Well I wasn't expecting anything from her so that was fine.

That day Ruhi ignored that topic and talked to me very usually like nothing ever happened.
Sought of annoying since I wanted to hear her an answer even if it's a no, I'll respect her decision maybe her ignorance means no and that's fine.

"Well guys from today on we'll be practicing in the evening too so be there on time
and please everyone let's seriously practice."
Erica stated.

5 days passes since my confession and still, nothing from her side made me more anxious somehow.
Finally, we finished all our songs and now we were just left with perfect practices and run-throughs.
Just a few more days for our interschool sports meet.
The time when everyone starts getting anxious, and furious, and the time which has the most amount of fights - mostly because of the tension.

"Heyy guys let's practice," Tania said

"Ya ya but where is Ved?" I asked.

"Ya right, where's Ved, TANIA," Shaan asks Tania, in a way- teasing her.

"In the ground for football practice, where else would he be? Don't u have to go Reyansh?? "

"Oh right, I need to go too ahh thanks Tania for reminding me."

"Sorry guys excuse me. Today our school team needs me." I said hurriedly while packing my guitar back.

Shaan teases Tania again saying obviously she would know and everyone laughed except her who just sighed with a disgusted face.

Anyway I ran down and we started with the practice match
It was a trial match with both our schools, we were competing for the first time
and yesss no friendship during wars.

We were right in as it was the final day.

I gave my all forgetting the whole confession thing.

*During half-time break*

"Heyy man not going easy on Ur friend?" Ved asks jokingly.

"No no dude" I firmly replied with a smile.

"Well then I have no other option than to distract u and play dirty," he said while passing a bottle of water to me.

"Did u get to talk to her ?" He continues.

"You surely want to play dirty right" I humorously respond.
"Nothing! srsly nothing! She is acting as if nothing happened totally normal" I continued.

He amusingly assures me "U chose a funny lady it is gonna be fine mate."

Come on it's time to go back to enemies.

And we continue with our second half it was soon going to get over with our school minutes away from winning
and she appears,

we make eye contact,

I get hit by the ball,

I fall- still maintaining eye contact,

everyone panics,

she runs to check on me and goes "Are u okay?"

That when I regain consciousness

"Oh ya ya I'm fine just a small cut"

"Dude u sure? Pls get checked. Ruhi pls take him" Ved says.

He helps me get up and asks if I'm really okay. Well, it is just a small cut and I don't think I got a sprain or my bone cracked or something…. im fine.

He whispers "Well then act like u are not fine"
"Huh?" I asked perplexed.

" Let this cupid shoot the arrow go to the medical room with Ruhi and boom there's Ur chance go dude don't waste it"
He answers with a wink.

I walk as if my legs hurt a lot while she helps me to the medical room.

I look back smiling at Ved.
And that's exactly how you know you’ve found a friend for life.

" Does it hurt a lot?" She asks
" Ah not much" I replied while still acting as if I'm in pain.

The nurse treated my wound while she still stood there very tense.
When the nurse left for some work I assured her that I'm totally fine and not to worry much about me.
She rests assuredly and sat awkwardly beside me.
" If u need any help ask me and don't bother to move much." She said softly.

What else do u need in life when the woman u like is ready to nurse u so I did not bother to ask her anything about 'the confession'.

"U totally did not ask her anything right?"
Shaan asks 2 hours after the incident while I was still in the medical room blushing.
"Obviously I did not" I scream at him as he distracted me while I was imagining my future with Ruhi.

"Dude u had such a good chance," Erica said annoyingly.

Like how was I even going to ask? She was so normal about it instead of bringing up that topic and spoiling everything I thought playing with her was easier.

"Anyway where are the others?"

Shaan replied, "If by others if u r asking about Ruhi she is with the other band mates practicing and if u r asking about Ved and Tania they are obviously together."

We will never stop teasing Ved and Tania, they are always together fighting and teasing each other but there is something about their fights and they are too cute together
