Kokichi sat with his knees to his chest, head down and visibly upset as Shuichi sat on the other side of the cold, metal bars. "You wouldn't do this to yourself... Kokichi." He said, stopping to look at a file they had found matching his face."No, I wouldn't have ripped a mask off that had been sewn to my face." He muttered, rolling his eyes and glaring.
"Who do you work for?" Shuichi asked, returning to the subject.
Silence. Again. This happened every time he asked the question. "We could let you out if you just told us."
"I work for Celestia Ludenburg." He lied.
"Kirigiri's girlfriend? Yeah right." Shuichi said, unlocking the door, swiftly stepping in and closing it behind him.
Kokichi glared up at him. "What? Gonna hurt me again?"
"Look, I'm sorry! How was I supposed to know that was going to happen?!" Shuichi asked, frustrated.
Kokichi gave him the silent treatment again, turning his whole body away from him. "Look, I don't ever result to violence. That was a complete accident." Shuichi said, walking in front of him.
Kokichi looked up at him with his now scarred face. Shuichi frowned. "I'm really sorry, Kokichi."
Kokichi smiled. "Aw, our first fight! And you admitted you were wrong!" Kokichi said, patting Shuichi's cheek as he stared at him in confusion.
Shuichi got up and left, telling him from outside the bars. "You're... weird, Kokichi." He said, walking to his office to work.
"Can I at least get a jacket?!" Kokichi called.
The door the hall had shut and he sighed, the cold, midnight breeze, creeping into his loose clothing. A small blur of red caught his attention, causing him to turn and look out of instinct. Maki's eyes lit up slightly and he began to wonder how long they'd been trying to get his attention. She began signing to him as Kaito and Angie watched the doors and a brunette girl, with a bandanna over her nose and mouth instead of a mask, began hacking the cameras. "What the hell did you do?!" Maki signed.
"I fell." He signed back as Kaito and Angie began signing to each other.
Maki facepalmed as she unlocked the door, greasing the hinges so the creak wouldn't alert Shuichi. "Is this about that detective guy?"
Kokichi smiled as he stepped out, which told her enough about the situation. She tapped the others' shoulders and motioned that it was time to leave. They left through a window in the back, but he was surprised not to see a car or something waiting for them. "Where's Tsumugi?" He asked as Kaito handed him his hearing aid.
Kaito and Maki looked at each other, then back at Kokichi. "She found out about the mask already, Kokichi. We're not exactly sure how but... you can't go back. She'd planned to kill you when she saw you again, at least, that's what Korekiyo told us."
"Oh..." Kokichi mumbled, his gaze going elsewhere.
Angie smiled wide. "Do not worry, Kokichi! I have a cousin who'd be willing to help you!" She said, flicking a quarter from her thumb into the air and catching it in her palm. "I just need to find a pay phone!"
Kokichi sighed. "I... I'll miss you guys."
"Woah, what happened to you?" The brunette said.
Kokichi quirked a brow. "I'm sorry, who are you?"
"Ah, right! You've never seen my face before!" She said, slipping it down past her chin to reveal a smile, though the corners of her mouth stretched out wide due to scars similar to Kokichi's. "I'm Fujisaki! Do you remember me? I was the one with the full mask!"
Kokichi thought for a moment. "Oh! You're that femboy!" He blurted before Maki elbowed him.
Fujisaki smiled and laughed awkwardly. "Don't worry, I get it a lot. You can call me Chihiro. I use he/him pronouns, by the way, so please don't call me a femboy again." He said awkwardly as he pulled the bandanna up again.
Kokichi nodded. "Right, sorry. Well, it's been, like, five years," Kokichi said, realizing Angie, Maki and Kaito were gone. "Where have you been?"
A loud engine sounded in the distance as the trio came running back from the street and into the alleyway that Kokichi and Fujisaki waited in. "Nagito's here!"
You could see Fujisaki smile with his eyes. "You'll see in a bit."
They all began walking out of the alleyway together, underneath the light of the lampposts. Kokichi stopped beside the buildings as he heard Shuichi say something loudly from the inside. Fujisaki waved a hand to Kokichi. "Come on! Wouldn't want him to leave you behind!"
Kokichi nodded and stepped onto the sidewalk for the first time since sleeping on it. He stood in front of the car door where Angie gave him a big hug. "If Atua allows it, perhaps we'll meet again someday."
Kokichi hugged her back as loud footsteps led to the door of the police station. "Where's Kaito and Maki?"
Angie laughed quietly. "I don't think they wanted you to see them crying." She said, pulling away to wipe a tear.
As the door was thrown open by a black-haired man with big eyebrows, Angie saluted. "I'll see you eventually, Ouma!"
She pushed him into the car, throwing the door shut behind him, as she ran into the alleyway. She could never voice the feeling herself, but standing outside of the alleyways... it filled her with adrenaline. Enough to make her run back to the penthouse without a drop of sweat. But when she reached the door and walked back in, closing it behind her, she had little to no time to react as Maki screamed from behind a piece of masking tape. Then, Angie was knocked out cold.
