JAKE and Grace are lashed to posts at the front entrance to Hometree.
The People look up as the Dragon and its escort of gunships arrive over the trees.
The down-blast from their rotors creates a maelstrom of flying leaves and debris.
"Run to the forest!"
"They're coming!"
Lin winces when Jake and grace yell
She doesn't want to believe this.
She knew this would happen.
"Lin, neytiri you must go!" Grace yells to the girls
who stare up at the sky
Tsu'tey and another hunter hold knives to the throats of the two avatars,
glaring defiantly at the gunships.
"You have to get out of Hometree! Run to the forest!
Please, I'm begging you!" Eytukan SCOWLS at Jake,
then grabs Tsu'tey and yells "Take the ikran! Attack from above!"
Tsu'tey grabs some hunters and runs up the roots of Hometree.
"Lin, please! Leave!" Jake Begs as she watches her frantically look around
"Please!" She turns to him and hisses "enough!" Her father yells for them to shoot at the ship
and Lin turns back around, bow and arrow at the ready and fires. Jake knew that the
arrows wouldn't do anything to their ship so he kept shouting for them to leave
The GAS rolls across the confused villagers. They begin to cough and gag.
"Everybody outside! Go to the Forest." Eytukan shouts causing neytiri to
grab ahold of her sister. Lins eyes are glued to jake and grace, her mouth slightly open and her eyes full of pain.
"Lin..." grace can sense her anger and she calmly calls of her but Lin ignore her
and stares at jake before running off with neytiri "LIN" he yells for her but she carries of running.
The villagers pour out of Hometree. Everyone is yelling.
Piercing SCREAMS in the boiling gas.
Jake, eyes streaming, struggles with his bindings.
KA-WHOOM! An Incendiary round explodes inside the Commons.
Flames roar through the base of Hometree. Flames roar up
the inside like a chimney. Stragglers scramble outside, coughing and dragging wounded with them.
High up in the trunk, TSU'TEY and his hunters leap rapidly
from spoke to spoke, climbing barely ahead of the fireball.
Lin and neytiri run close behind their father but stand their in confusion
when he begins to run into the Hometree "Father-
"go! Both of you go!" Neytiri goes to protest but he yells at her
and pushes Lin next to her "now!" Neytiri grabs Lin once again and pulls her with her.
Out of the smoke, Mo'at appears in front of Jake.
She raises a KNIFE and raises it next to his neck. Grace starts to yell.
Mo'at slashes downwards. Jake looks down, surprised, to see his bonds falling away.
He meets her eyes, which are filled with horror, but also something else.
Call it faith.
"If You are one of us. If you love my daughter Help us..."
Jake takes the knife and cuts Grace free.
"We've gotta move! He's gonna blow the columns."
As Grace realizes what he means, he grabs her and they run.
Around them the Omaticaya flee in horror and confusion.
Lin runs past Fiás'el who is down on her knees, crying in pain and agony.
"Fiás!" Lin pushes her sisters hand off her and runs to the women.
Fiás'el looks up to the girl and cry's harder. "Lin...Koi..."
Lin instantly knows what she's talking about
"where is she fiás" The women shakes her head negatively and falls into Lins arms
"she's gone..." Lins heart stops and she breaks down, Koi'tsey was gone.
Lin felt like koi was her own and she loved her very much.
"no...no!" Neytiri rushes over to the two and pulls them up
"we have to go, now!" Suddenly They all fall to the ground as a powerful gust of wind hits them
"koi..." her vision goes blurry and she feels tears fall down her face.
She was to young.
MISSILES stream down from the dragon and the other gunships
and the base of Hometree vanishes in a chain of high-explosive blasts.
The massive pillars fragment into matchsticks, and the Omaticaya watch in horror
as the Hometree GROANS and starts to move.
In a cacophony of cracking, splintering roots, the mighty tree topples with agonizing slowness.
Tsu'tey and the other hunters spur their mounts into flight. They swoop among
the branches as the tree, the one fixed thing in their lives, moves.
It crashes down through the forest canopy, crushing the lesser trees in its path,
falling Ponderously. The Hometree hits the ground like the end of the world,
raising a great cloud of dust and pulverized debris.
Lins eyes widen as she crawls back for her bow, holding it tightly to her chest.
Her ears flatten and she closes her eyes not being able to stare at her destroyed home.
She can hear many people screaming and crying as they all fall to their knees.
Lin stays standing and listens to the burning of the sacred wood.
She feels someone stand next to her and she opens her eyes.
Turning to see her sister in tears. "It's gone..." Lin cradles Neytiri in her arms
as she stares at the dust and smoke flying int the air.
They both run threw the burnt forest. Hand in hand and they jump over the remains of their Hometree.
Lin spots some movement infront of them and pulls neytiri next to her.
Lin's heart breaks and she freezes. Her father, Eytukan laying on the ground with
a sharp bit off wood pierced threw him. She drops her bow and arrows and begins to cry in pain.
Lin walks past neytiri and crouches next to him,
turning him around and letting out a scream of sadness.
"Daughter...take my bow..." Lin looks back to neytiri and frowns
"protect the people...both of you..." she gently takes the bow off him and holds it tightly
as she watches his hand fall back down.
As if it was in slow motion, she felt her whole body go numb
and she dropped her fathers bow, neytiri next to her as they both cry over their father.
Lin collapses over him, her face crumpling in grief.
As she hears someone yelling her name
"Lin! Lin!" Neytiri holds onto her sisters
hand as she falls next to her father.
Jake reels out of the smoke and Kneels next to lin.
"I'm sorry...I'm sorry-
She shoves him away and stands, screaming at him as tears stream down her face.
"Get away!" She takes her dad bow and pushes it into jakes chest
"Get away from here! Never come back!" Jake stumbles back
as she slumps down by her father's body. Sparks and smoke swirl around him.
He watches as Lin kneels, grieving. Slumped over, clutching her stomach.
Keening like an animal. Neytiri laying next to her, Next to their father.
Lin and Neytiri walk next to each other.
Lins grasp on her fathers bow was tight, and she held onto Neytiri's hand gently.
Lin dropped her sisters hand and turned around to look at the hometree one last time.
Before walking off with her mother, sister and fathers bow.
She had no thought about Jake
Other then the bracelet she wore on her wrist.
The one he made her before this all happened.
The one she would treasure forever.
