"Alright, I'll listen to you okay?" You grabbed his hands, receiving a smile in exchange "I shouldn't meddle with such mysteries."

What a lie.

'Curiosity killed the cat.'

Surely the cause of your death.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Both of you hung around for some time. Exchanging smiles, blushes and stories. But the feeling of helplessness never left you. A constant voice in your brain telling you things would go south no matter the path you took, it made it impossible to enjoy Jevil's company, lucky for you, he didn't seem to notice, you were glad, when he realized something was up he wouldn't let go of the matter until it's talked about thoroughly.

You went to your bed eventually, only to go to the only place you could both share to spend even more time together. While you were happy to see Jevil, it felt like you never slept, you never had that feeling of rest. A small pause was all you asked for, sleeping, not in another realm, not having a nightmare, not an incredible and magnificent dream, just sleeping, waking up, feeling warm and cozy in your bedsheets, knowing you've done nothing for the past hours.

You missed it.

When you woke up you didn't even feel the difference from being in Jevil's little world. You looked to the side, exhausted, only to be met with the last thing you wanted to see, the broken piece of the key. That damned key. It was cursed, you were sure, it only brought sorrow to you.

"God... Another day of work." You said, sitting up and mentalizing yourself for working. You got into uniform and you know the rest. You wanted to put Jevil's cape in your closet but since you didn't really know how capes were supposed to be stored so you just spread it out on your bed, you didn't want it to get wrinkles.

In the middle of your shift you were surprised as you heard a familiar voice in the distance "No, it can't be..." You left whatever task you were doing unattended and went to follow the source of the voice. "Oh oh..." You stopped in your tracks, peeking from a corner. "Seam? What are you doing here?" You whispered to yourself.

You saw Seam speaking with Rouxls, they looked like they were enjoying their conversation weirdly enough. You got out of their sight and looked around, startled.

"Please tell me he didn't notice his part of the key missing..." You said to yourself, covering your eyes with your hands respectively. "Whatever, he can't interrupt me while I'm working right?" You went back to your previous position and resumed your previous activity.

After a few minutes passed by you didn't get more calm. As a matter of fact, you only got more nervous, he could appear any second. And he did. "Y/N" A soft voice called from behind you.

You turned your head for your gaze to meet the tranquil person upon you. "Ah, Seam, what a surprise..." You smiled awkwardly, you would've been so happy to see him under other circumstances, but you had things to worry about. "What brings you to the castle?" You asked, genuine.

"Well, it had been too long since I last came to visit. I missed this place and its people. One gets nostalgic every once in a while."

"Is that so? It's good checking up on old pals"

"I believe one of my possessions went missing as well."

"Oh. Well then..." You stared dead in the eye.

"I presume it was you?" He asked. He didn't look angered in the slightest, you wondered if he could feel any other emotion that wasn't peacefulness.

"You presumed right-- But I have a reason--!"
