Chapter 26 ♦️ Unpleasant Visitor

The way to the castle was silent on your part, you didn't feel like talking to yourself or even thinking.

As you got into the castle you were met with the elevator. You were tired, but you were sad. You needed Jevil's comfort now.

You got down to Jevil's level once more, it seems as if I narrate this sentence every chapter.

Exhausted, you made your way down the staircase "Jevil? Please come out" You requested, tired.

"Y/N, why the long face?" He appeared out of the dark with a playful aura.

"I uh... I don't want to talk about it honestly. It's wrong, that's all I need to know." You said, sitting down and hugging yourself.

"Oh..." He simply added, sitting down as well. "Why didn't you go to sleep? You look tired, tired."

"I wanted to be with you, I don't want to be alone right now." Jevil blushed lightly. "Seam came too to visit the castle."

Jevil was shocked "... Is that so? What for?" He asked.

"He uh... To visit, y'know, checking up on people."

"Did he say anything about me? Me?" An expectant face.

"I suggested he came to see you, but--"

"But..." He looked to the side, remorseful.

"He's sorry Jevil" You started "He's too sorry to see you, he said he wouldn't handle seeing you like this. I know you may have some grudges to hold against him but I promise he means good, he regrets it."

"How can you be so sure..?" Jevil wanted to believe you, believe his friend was still the person he knew, but his past actions made him doubt.

"Because I told him." Jevil looked at you "I told him that I was going through the same thing as you were and he supported me Jevil. He's learnt from his mistakes, he knows what he did is wrong, I want to make sure you understand this, you can't not be friends with Seam again after you've been fred"

"What do you mean fred, fred?"

Shit. You spoke too much. "Have you listened to the other things I said?" You tried to change the theme of the conversation.

"Yes but--"

"Then it's settled!" You said, turning your back, facing the stairs, Jevil's gaze only being able to see your back.

"Y/N, what do you mean, mean?" He asked. You didn't answer, this was the worst thing that could've happened. This could only get worse if Gaster-- No, let's not even think about it, you might jinx it. "Y/N!" Jevil's voice broke out your train of thought.

"I..." You started, you sighed, defeated. "I, I found the key fragments. They were scattered around."

Jevil stared in awe.

"I didn't even mean to go find them, but after I found one accidentally I just had to get the rest. I just have to fuse it back together, once I do I can set you free."

"... But?" Jevil asked, expecting the rest of your explanation.

"But I don't know what to do. If I do free you, who knows what'll happen, to me, or to you. I'm afraid things might go south if I free you. And I don't want to say you're crazy but who knows if you just go berserk. It seems like you lose control completely and I don't want that to happen." You turned back to face him.

Jevil stared in understanding. "I see, see... I can't blame you, but I do hope--"

"Y/N" Yeah, you jinxed it.
