Neytiri and I walk back to the Home Tree. "It's only been one day and I am exhausted." Neytiri says with a sigh. "Me too." I say with a sigh. I wanted to say something more comforting but nothing came to mind. "What do you think of him?" Neytiri asks. I try to pick my words carefully. "I do not trust him." I say simply. "Why is that?" Neytiri asks. "He is a "warrior" of sky people. Those warriors are the same people that kill our people. That tears down our forest and kills our animals. I truly don't think he will ever understand us beyond his selfish desires. I wouldn't be surprised if he was working directly under the general." I say.

"I don't trust him. I don't think I will ever trust him. I don't know what your parents are trying to do with teaching him our ways. I don't think it's worth it. I fear an ugly outcome will come from this man." I finally said all I wanted to.

"I agree." Neytiri says in a simple sad tone.

After a couple more days of Jake trying to ride the pa'li we took a break from that. He had made a lot of progress but it wasn't enough. Neytiri and I were growing tired of seeing him fall all day.

We all climb to the top of the home tree. Jake lags behind ad Neytiri and I take the lead. "I hope your ikran eats him." I say to Neytiri. She hits my arm, "Myra." She tries to act annoyed but a small smile graced her lips.

We arrive at the top and quickly wait for Jake. Once he's here Neytiri starts calling out. A dark shape emerges from the tree leaves. A mountain ikran jumps down in front of us. The ikran easily towers over Neytiri. "Holy shit." Jake mutters. "To show your respect, look directly into her eyes." I say to Jake.

"Do not look her in the eyes." Neytiri quickly says to Jake. "Oops, must have forgot." I say with a shrug. Neytiri feeds Seze a piece of meat. She quickly devours the meat. Neytiri strokes Seze's neck while muttering something. Seze shrieks as some of the other ikran answer.

Neytiri attaches her queue gently to the ikran's. Seze shivers in response and stretches her wings. "Ikran are not like horse. Once shahaylu is made, ikran will fly with only one hunter in the whole life." Neytiri explains to Jake. "Once the connection is made, you are connected for life." I add on. Neytiri easily gets on the ikran's back.

"To become taronyu, hunter. You must choose your own ikran, and he must choose you." Neytiri says. "When?" Jake asks. I roll my eyes. He can't even ride a pa'li and he wants to ride an ikran? Not gonna happen. "When you are ready." Neytiri answers.

With that Neytiri dives off the branch. Jake dives from the sudden movement. Seze easily glides through the air and over the trees. "It's gonna be a while since you're ready." I say to Jake. "Can you ride one?" Jake asks in a snide tone. I look at him, calling for my ikran. Kae comes swooping down. "Be careful she might bite your head off." I say while petting her neck.

"Are you gonna tell her to do that?" Jake asks. I roll my eyes while getting on Kae. "Jake there is no "tell her" we are connected and both respect each other." I say. "Maybe that's why you keep falling on your ass."

Neytiri comes soaring over and Jake ducks from how close the ikran is to him. Neytiri laughs and continues flying over the forest. I hop on Kae. "See ya." I joke with a smile before flying after Neytiri. It was nice to take a break from the muddy place near the river. Neytiri and I soar through the air together.

Completely forgetting about Jake on the branch.
