I'll Put My Red Dress on Again

Chapter 13

We spent a couple more days with Jake riding the pa'li. He eventually got it down. I honestly don't think I could take another day watching him. Next was teaching him how to hunt.

First we start out with teaching him how to shoot a bow and arrow. "Arms back, elbow up, and stomach in." I say while doing those exact things in order. "Slow your breath... and" I let go of the arrow and shoot right into the center of the target. "Bullseye." I say simply.

"Now you try." I say while handing him a bow. Jake nocks the bow and aims. Neytiri quickly comes over and corrects Jake. Hitting his elbow up and pushing his stomach in. Jake stays in that position while Neytiri backs up. He shoots the arrow and misses the target completely. "I don't want to spend weeks doing this again." I groan to Neytiri. "Skxáwng" is all the Neytiri mutters. "Again." Neytiri says while pushing Jake back into position.

After a couple hours we moved on to tracking. Neytiri, Jake, and I sit down on the ground. For some language practice. "Seyri." Neytiri says while touching her nose, ears, and eyes. "Ontu, mikyun, narli." Jake repeats. "Nah-ri." Neytiri pronounces again. "Narli." Jake repeats. Neytiri hits in the head, Jake's ears immediately turn down. "Nah-ri!" She repeats again. I laugh at Jake. He gives me a glare in response.

It was getting late and we all headed back to the home tree. "He is stupid!" Neytiri says while walking. I try to hide my laugh at her sudden outburst. We already finished eating dinner and we're heading to the hammocks to sleep.

"He is very stupid." I say while getting into the hammock. I sit up and open my legs. Neytiri sits between them, "But enough about him." I say while wrapping my arms around Neytiri's waist. "Tomorrow let's take the day to ourselves." I whisper into her ear.

I feel goosebumps form on Neytiri's skin. Her hesitation was an answer for me, "Just one day. He won't learn anything in one day." I whisper. Neytiri leans her body into my touch, "Ok Ma Myra." She says. I smile and pull away. Laying light kisses down her spine.

We both woke up and laid with each other for a while. I breathe in the smell of Neytiri. Flowers with a mix of mud. The smell quickly became a comfort for me. I held Neytiri, she always wants to be the little spoon.

We both reluctantly got up, "I'll take care of Jake." I say to Neytiri. She nods and walks off for breakfast. I walk over to Jake's hammock, "Todays a free day, do whatever you want... but I suggest you practice what we taught you." I say to Jake. I turn around and start to walk away. Wait, why?" He asks.

I turn around, "We all need a break." I say simply. I walk off before Jake can argue anymore. If he gets himself killed then oh well. I meet up with Neytiri and we both eat breakfast together. I could already tell Neytiri was in a better mood than she has been in a while. While eating she leaned her head on my shoulder.

"What do you want to do today?" I ask Neytiri. "I just want to be with you." She says simply. Neytiri was never this lovey dovey before. Maybe she was more stressed than I thought. "Let's fly together." I offer. Neytiri smiles and nods in response.

I stand up and offer my hand to Neytiri. She takes it and we make our way to the ikran's. Hand in hand. Once we made it up or ikran both jumped down. Somehow they must have known we were coming. I pet Seze before making my way to Kae.

Neytiri and I got onto our ikran. We both dive off the branch. We soar through the sky as we make our way to the Hallelujah mountains. We weave in between the mountains. I playfully nudged Neytiri with my ikran. She gasped and smiled widely. Returning the favor to me.

After flying for hours we landed on one of the little mountains nearby. We sit down and I lean over and kiss Neytiri. "This day has been amazing." I say while holding her hands. Neytiri laughs in response. Her laugh gives me butterflies in my stomach.

I move closer to Neytiri and deeply kiss her. She returns the kiss as we move as close as we can to each other. Neytiri wraps her legs around my hips to deepen our intimacy. I squeeze her thigh in response. Neytiri grabs her queue and brings it over her shoulder. I follow her actions. We attach our queues. I become overwhelmed with love.

I wake up with Neytiri laying on my chest. I muzzle my nose into Neytiri's neck. The sky was so beautiful. The blues and pinks danced together in perfect unison. I played with Neytiri's hair while she slept. I never wanted to leave this moment.

This is everything I wanted. Everything I longed for. When I first met Neytiri she gave me butterflies. She still does. Except now we are one. We are together.
