𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝗺 (𝟮,𝟭𝟬 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲)

Maddie had been spending a lot of time in the library. She was looking over books. She needed to know what the mark was on her wrist. And she couldn't handle not knowing.

She couldn't find anything to signal what it meant. It was doing her head in. All she needed was an answer. An answer as to what it meant.

Morning soon came too quickly for her. She had been awake until 4am reading. Hoping to find something. She eventually climbed out of bed and made her way downstairs.

Elena looked to her and raised an eyebrow. She handed her older sister some coffee. "You look like you went for a fight with Katherine," she said.

"Thanks. I'm tired," Maddie mumbled. She looked to the cupboards. "Do we have any lucky charms?"

"I think Jeremy had them," Elena said as she looked to her.

Maddie frowned. She looked to see Jenna as she walked in. "Jeremy had the lucky charms. You need to tell him," she said as she looked to her.

Jenna rolled her eyes but nodded. She smiled. "Okay."

Maddie looked up to see Damon and Stefan as they walked in. Lily behind them. "Why are you two here so goddamn early?" She asked.

Elena sighed. "They talked to Katherine," she told her.

"Ah okay."

Lily nodded and smirked. "Yeah. And the dumb bitch seems to think that if she gives us the moonstone, she will be released from the tomb. She also says when she's out, she would leave Mystic Falls and not come back," she told her.

"Oh please. Don't tell me you're dumb enough to believe that," Maddie said.

Damon shook his head. He was worried about Maddie and how she had left him before. "Course not. We just want the moonstone."

"According to Rose's friend Slater, there's a way to break destroy the spell Klaus wants to break," Stefan told them.

"No spell. No doppelgänger. No sacrifice. Ergo Elena lives," Damon said.

Maddie tilted her head. "How do you destroy it?" She asked.

"By releasing it from the moonstone."

Elena nodded. "How do you guys know this is even going to work?" She asked.

Maddie frowned. She knew how Elena had been in a weird mood since she had found out Klaus did to Katherine's family.

Damon pulled Maddie off stool she was on and pulled her to stand between his legs. "Cause we have a crafty witch on our side," he said.

Maddie felt wrong when Damon touched her. She never normally felt that way. She felt like she didn't want anyone touching her.

"We're gonna get it from her," Stefan said as he looked between the Gilbert sisters.

"Well... what he means to say is we will pry it from her cold, dead hand if we have to. Bonnie just needs to find a way to release the seal long enough for us to get in, get the moonstone and get out in time for her to return it," Damon said.

Maddie shrugged and smiled. "I'm down for killing the bitch."

Elena nodded. She looked between them. "Wow. I mean it sounds like you guys have got it all planned out," she said.

Damon smirked and shrugged. "Yep! We're awesome."

"Except for one thing. I don't want you to do it," Elena said.

Maddie frowned. She shook her head. "I'm sorry. Do you hear yourself right now? They're doing all of this for you."

"Maddie's right. What are you talking about? We don't have a choice," Stefan told her.
