A puddle of drool was collecting on the table under her cheek. Her arms were splayed out in front of her, the radio buzzing in her ear. It acted as a soothing white noise. She'd only intended to rest her eyes, but by a glance at her watch, she knew she'd fallen asleep for a while. At least half an hour.

She picked her head up a little and stared at the radio, grabbed it in one hand, sat up the rest of the way. Her eyes were sticky with sleep. She rubbed at her eyes, pushed her sunglasses back on and yawned so wide it hurt her jaws.

Her sunglasses fell back over her eyes.

"What the heck?" She grumbled.

"Looks like even you get tired," a voice said from behind.

She whirled around in her seat and saw Olivia standing there against the wall, arms crossed over her chest. A snarky look on her face.

"I wasn't tired. I was resting my eyes," Zoey said.

"Doesn't matter. Nothing's happening anyways," Olivia replied.

She adjusted her blue eye mask and walked to the chair nearest to Zoey's. Pulled it away from the table. Sunk down into it and sighed.

"Again, just for the record, I wasn't tired," Zoey stated as another yawn parted her jaws.

Olivia gave an I don't really care shrug. She looked tired too. Still beat from the night before.

"What do we do when we find him?" She asked.

"What we must," Zoey replied.

"What if he's fully evil at this point?"

"Hurt him enough to get him to stop moving, send him to jail. Try to avoid killing him at all costs. But if need be..."

Olivia winced. Started to nod like she knew it might come to that. Let out a long breath and glanced up to the ceiling briefly.

"I really hope it's--"

A flurry of voices came over the scanner, people talking back and forth, beeps and whines cutting through the static. They sounded frantic, concerned.

"Sam's Cafe is being attacked, hostages on the roof. Mobilize all units." A voice announced.

Zoey shot up out of her seat and looked to Olivia and grabbed her pager from her belt. Pressed the Call-All button. She ran her fingers through her hair to straighten it and waited for her team to gather in the room.

Jake vaulted over the couch and ran to the table, Jitters bolted into the room a second later, sipping on a half-empty iced coffee.

Rhinestone Cowgirl and Total Chaos were arguing about something when they walked in through the door that led up to the bar. They hurried their pace when they saw the others, and fell silent.

Ice Breaker followed a few heartbeats later.

Zoey glanced to Olivia and nodded.

"Hostage situation at Sam's Cafe. Don't go in guns blazing, we have to be careful. Stop about a block away from the scene and wait to see what's happening before moving in. Capiche?"

"Aye aye, Captain!" Total Chaos and Rhinestone Cowgirl shouted.

Zoey rolled her eyes and shifted into her black cat form. Ran over to Jake and leaped up onto the table beside him. Hiked up his arm and dug her claws into the leather padding on his shoulder. Turned to face the rest of the team.

"What are you doing?" Jake grumbled as he stumbled backward.

She lashed her tail against the back of his head and puffed out her chest.

"Riding into battle on an angel."
