Lee was glad he had the goggles to protect his eyes from the wind as he flew through the sky, surrounded by fluffy white clouds. His new partner Jordan was waiting for assistance with a hostage situation down at Sam's Cafe. Why did Lord Daemon match me up with Jordan? He's not even cute. I mean to some people he might be, but not for me.
He was sitting on his legs as the clouds carried him further, at a speed of roughly fifty miles an hour thanks to a jet stream. He looked forward and imagined the clouds changing their shapes. Imagined them shifting and building off each other to build a sort of lumpy dragon with wings.
The clouds he sat on grew thrice as large, a lizard-like head formed with 'spikes' running down the back of its neck. The body sprouted a pair of lopsided wings and started taking shape, it somehow ended up with six short legs rather than four regular legs. A long spiked tail extended yards behind him.
No one was going to be able to appreciate the cloud dragon in all it's glory since it was late at night, from below it probably looked like a giant mess. As long as I've got a dragon I don't care if anyone else can see it. I'm going to name him... No, her, Brunhilde, after the Valkyrie! Yes. Brunhilde is fantastic! Ride Brunhilde ride!
He loved his powers. Being able to craft a dragon out of clouds had to be the best thing ever. Thanks for letting me out of jail, Lord Daemon. I wanted to bust out myself, but you beat me to it.
He'd had his powers for about a year, and was still getting used to them, which was why the dragon had ended up so messy.
He sent the dragon hurtling toward the ground while struggling to contain all the pieces of the cloud so it wouldn't break apart. Once I reach the ground this thing is dead. Aww, poor Brunhilde. I could remake you but it'd never be the same!
The spikes on the back of her neck started breaking off. No crime. He let them go so he could focus on the other parts. He was halfway to the ground, he could see the cafe and his partner hovering in the air over the roof.
He rode harder, the tail broke apart and half of it fell off. Nooo, come on! At least look cool till we land!
Brunhilde carried him further until he was beside Jordan. He told Brunhilde to stop, and she did. She hovered in mid-air above the people being held hostage on the roof. There were ten people. Looked like employees of the Cafe.
"Hey, partner!" Lee shouted.
"Clouds, a dragon? Really?" Jordan responded.
"Whaaat. She's cool! Her name's Brunhilde!"
"Get down there and monitor the hostages. I'm going down to the ground to greet the so-called 'heroes'."
"Will do sir!"
The people down below screamed as he and Brunhilde dove down in front of them. They hugged each other and cried out for mercy. Brunhilde landed on all six feet, lashed her tail to the side, and dissipated into a fine mist that rose up into the sky.
Lee fell to the ground gracefully, with his arms out to his sides. The impact hurt his knees. Ow ow ow.
He shuffled towards the huddle of people and smiled.
"Don't worry, if he's bad cop, then I'm good cop."
The people all blinked at him, wiping tears from their eyes. They settled down and looked at the floor as they waited for freedom. You'll be free soon. You guys are just the bait we're using to get the so-called heroes here.
