Chapter 8: Donavin the Horse

Vanessa and Dappert awoke at the break of dawn to find each other in one another's arms.

Vanessa yawned smiling at Dappert

"Thank you for keeping me warm last night."

Dappert smiled at her his hand on her waist

"Not a problem, Vanessa."

He winked at her and she blushed brightly before he stood up and whistled loudly. 

A few moments later a tall in describable horse ran up and reared up in front of his face

"Hey! Donavin, been awhile sense I have ridden you buddy."

Dappert took the horns on the horses armor and tugged it around lightly and the horse nickered a bit in a greeting.

Donavin spotted Vanessa standing up off the ground and tilted his head curiously before trotting up and nudging her with his nose.

He huffed  in her face and Vanessa laughed lightly rubbing his neck

"What a fine horse, why do you never use him?"

Dappert shrugged lifting Vanessa onto Donavin's back

"I don't want to risk him getting hurt, but I don't want you walking so why not put this old boy to work."

Vanessa giggled lightly.

Dappert couldn't help but to smile at her giggle

"Well, we need to get you to blend in cause if you go around in what you are in now we will be easily spotted."

Vanessa nodded as he lead Donavin off with Vanessa riding side saddle on Donavin.

After awhile of walking in silence Dappert spoke up

"Vanessa?"

Vanessa looked at him curiously

"Yes?"

Dappert spoke nervously

"Why is it that I have only known you for a day and I feel like I have known you forever?"

Vanessa smiled warmly

"I don't know but I don't mind at all, because to be honest...I feel the same way."

She leaned down and lifted his 'blindfold' and he grinned quickly turning his head placing a kiss on her soft lips before looking back at the road ahead pulling his

blindfold back down.

Vanessa stayed frozen in her spot wide eyed and she heard him chuckle and she huffed

sitting up strait blushing the brightest shade of red.

They continued walking.
