The duel

She woke up the next morning extra early to get ready for her first day at Hogwarts. She put on her robes, a few necklaces, mascara, highlighter, and some lip gloss. She used a spell to hide the eye bags from her lack of sleep last night. Let's just say she heard some...noises... coming from the boys dorms. More specifically the one she believed to be Tom's. She tried to cast a spell to soften it but her peaceful sleep was interrupted by Delani busting through the door complaining she had lost her rabbit. I had to remind her she didn't have a rabbit and she went back to bed. Delani was a very pretty girl and all the boys would be swooning over her if it wasn't for her...sanity...I should say.

She grabbed her bag and was off the her first class of the day. D.A.D.A. When she arrived there were no desks or chairs just a big large space which could only mean one thing-

"Today class we will be dueling"

It was the professor with the black hair that was studying her yesterday. He had a menacing appeal to him.

"I'm sure you are all very aware of the rules. Bow, raise your wands, and disarm. Simple enough."

He then began to call out partners.

"....and last but not least, Mr. Riddle and Ms.Potter."

"But sir I never have a partner-" he began

"That was until Ms potter joined us, now we have an even number of students this year."

She found out the professors name was professor Snape. Her father was very fond of him, and she could see the appeal. He was straight to the point and wasted no time with his teachings. Although she wasn't sure why her father had liked him so much, her father usually hates people like that, creepy and mysterious. Her father and her were like opposites. She was quiet and loved studying dark magic whilst her father was loud and loved to save people. She didn't know why. She never saved anyone, she didn't feel the need to. I'm fact she didn't feel much of anything at all. She was usually empty expect for a few laughs here and there she never really felt like she belonged with her family. She tried to be grateful though, considering how her father grew up, she should consider herself lucky.

The two waited for their turn not saying a word to eachother. Her father taught her all of the spells that would work for a tough opponent, however she learned real skills from her favorite book 'secrets of the darkest art'.

 "Riddle and Potter, your up"

They both stood on opposite ends and walked up slowly to eachother. She stared into his eyes as the smell of rain infiltrated her senses. The more she got closer, the more she noticed how dark his eyes were. She could stare into them all day, like an endless void.

A sharp baritone voice pulled her out of her trance

"I don't bow"

He said

"Good me either"

Then they began. He shot the first spell.

"Expeliamus"

She quickly blocked it.

"Stupefy"

She shouted but he quickly deflected it with a wave of his wand. He was surprised she had deflected it, not that it was hard spell to deflect but the few idiotic people he had dueled didn't even know what a defensive spell was.

"Petrificus Totalus"

"Protego"

They went back and forth like this for a while until finally he had enough. He cast a spell that sent her flying back. She didn't know any defensive spells for it since he had in fact made the spell himself.
