Blue Bird

After rendezvousing with Bruce Wayne, Peter was trying to sync his dispatch radio up to whatever frequency that device is tuned to. In his focus, he could vaguely hear the sound of a drone flying around and outside his window. He didn't think much of it initially, it isn't uncommon for people to be flying drones to get some skyline shots of the city. What started to catch his attention, was when he kept hearing the drone by his window...and it wasn't moving. It wasn't dangerous enough to make his spider sense go off, but it was enough of a suspicious nuisance that it peaked Peter's interest.

Turning his head towards the source of the noise, he saw a a blue drone that looked equipped with surveillance gear. It was blue in color, with black accents beneath what looked like small amounts of armored plating. It seemed designed with a bird in mind. With small wings concealing where the propellers are.

"What the...?" Peter said quietly, grabbing one of his sister's sharper lock picks. Using it as a makeshift throwing dart, launching it from his hand through the window. He saw the drone swerve up and out of the way, as if it had been flown by a professional. Almost too professional for someone to be doing this as a hobby. While the drone was out of line of sight, Peter had gears turning in his head.

"Well...owe Selina that particular tool," he muttered as he walked to the kitchen, ducking down to avoid the drone as it righted itself and tried to track his movements. For a moment, Peter didn't hear the drone before he heard the small propellers carry it to the window he was beneath. Now Peter started to gather information about the drone.

Ok this person knows how to maneuver a drone in a high speed situation. The drone itself has surveillance equipment, and given how it was able to find me again. Must have multi-spectrum vision. Batman, maybe? No, this has too much color to be him. Too much showboat, not enough practicality in making a drone look like a blue bird. Can't be any Cadmus stuff, they would have opened fire on me to try and eliminate me. Think Parker, you need to try and think. The thoughts raced through a mile a minute, as he tried to put his detective training to work. Trying to micromanage his stealth while keeping itself steady and not panicking.

What possibilities remain, could this be someone who knows Batman? A member of the Justice League? As more deductions tried to string together in his train of thought, his thoughts were interrupted as the doorknob to the apartment began to rattle. Someone was trying to get in, so he would be ready. The lock began to shift and click
Lockpicks, someone skilled on infiltration. Within 3 seconds of the clicking starting, the door swung open. In walked a man, with short but wild black hair. He wore a domino mask...at least Peter thought it was a domino mask. It looked like a combination of a domino mask and a cowl that went down around the neck.

Suddenly, any plan to try and figure out who this is and why they're here was thrown right out the window. As he started rapidly equipping his web shooters from his pockets and leaping onto the ceiling to cling. He snuck across the ceiling, quiet as a shadow. This person lurked like a ninja, keeping an eye out for any sign of lift. Presumably looking for Peter, who was right above his head in the pitch black kitchen. Virtually invisible to one another, until a creak on a hidden beam between floors gave away Peter. Without looking up, the figure produced a black rod with a glowing blue tip. Peter could hear the hum, electricity buzzing.

Before another thought could cross his mind, Peter's system was surged with 50,000 volts right in the lower back. He lost his focus, his body releasing from the ceiling as he fell. The figure catching him mid fall and putting him in a reverse headlock. A black gauntlet over his mouth to keep him from screaming.

"Just calm down, okay?! I work with Batman, my name is Nightwing! I heard you were going through a tough investigation and thought I could be some help to you while the big man is out of town. So slow your roll and let me help," The man quickly explained, jogging Peter's memory to his conversation with Mr. Knight. This was one of the Batfamily he was told about. His panic subsided and he relaxed in the grip of Nightwing. The night sky colored vigilante released Peter, who immediately elbowed the man in the ribs.
