It's the crack of dawn in Gotham City, billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne walks out of a sports car parked into his own parking spot. Straightening his tie, he walks past his employees. Greeting them as he goes into the elevator to head up to his office at the top floor. The CEO of Wayne Enterprises walks into his office, a display of philanthropic grandeur. A black polished desk with a chair swiveled facing the large window that shows a grand view of Gotham City at large. Bruce Wayne takes a careful look around his office, briefly letting the mask slip as he lets the investigative prowess of Batman.
He took note of the smaller things in his office, a book was missing. The chess pieces on the board were reset, and an entire game was played out with white winning. A discover check, the bishop and rook surrounding the black king. His chair was facing the window, he didn't leave it like that last night before he went to the cave. Someone was in here....and they're still here. It was someone intelligent, he could tell due to the chess game. It was someone who was knowledgeable about Gotham History, based on the book that was taken. There was nothing broken in the office, so it wasn't someone overly brutish.
He noticed there were small indents into the high walls of the office. Meaning that there was someone with metahuman abilities in here, and he could tell without much immediate investigation that his office's security system was tampered with. His silent alarms hadn't been triggered, but he could tell that their signals would be intercepted by a secondary receiver instead of the main security offices if that had been.
"I take it you didn't go through the building's security desk, Spider-Man?" Bruce Wayne asked, addressing Peter by his hero name. Playing it close to the vest when it came to what Bruce Wayne knew and what Batman knew, making the distinction that Bruce Wayne doesn't know the connection between the two. The chair swivels around on its own, revealing Spider-Man sitting in the chair. Reading the book in the chair, the lenses glances between the book and Bruce Wayne.
"They didn't believe I was here for the Wayne Foundation Masquerade," Spider-Man quipped as he sets the book onto the desk and leaps up onto the window.
"I just have a few questions for you, I'm just trying to figure out a puzzle. A puzzle that spans all of Gotham. I imagine you know what...or who I'm talking about?" Spider-Man began, nonchalantly walking around the window. Bruce Wayne tracing his movements with the utmost subtlety. He knew why Peter was here, it was his final test. He's trying to solve the world's greatest mystery. Batman though...Batman wouldn't make it easy.
"I imagine you're here to ask me about Batman? I can't imagine why though. You know that Batman and I work together," Bruce said, leading strong with the simple ignorance act. He knows that Peter knows that Bruce Wayne and Batman work together.
"Well Mr. Wayne, do you know that most of if not the majority of Batman's equipment is based on or has connections to Wayne Enterprises?" Spider-Man asked, beginning this interrogation with his strongest lead. The unusual connection between Batman and Wayne Enterprises can't be understated, so leading with that should be a good starting point. Bruce Wayne though....he saw this coming.
"Batman's equipment is Wayne Technology? How can you be so sure? There are a lot of companies that could possibly help equip Batman with his tools," Bruce Wayne brought up, tugging at the threads of doubt he knew Peter would have encountered when trying to think up an avenue to try and determine Batman's identity. He knew that Peter was a tactile person, he knew that Peter would start by the equipment. Peter took that response and filed it into his mind, going after the next connection he has.
"If you didn't know that Batman's gear is Wayne Technology, then do you know why Batman's computer is able to tap into and access an unprecedented amount of information within the city of Gotham, local and national governments, and even databases around the world?" Spider-Man asked, knowing that Bruce Wayne as a person keeps tabs on the things that go on within his company. If Bruce Wayne doesn't know that this is happening, then that means he's probably turning a blind eye to it. Or maybe he knows that it's happening because he's using his own systems to have these security backdoors because he is Batman.
