Guilts and Promises

Luna Remy Sallow-Uley

Most parents would scorn and punish their child if they were to have received a call from their child's teachers stating that they had received an after-school-hours detention for disrupting the class. Most parents would give the child a warning, deprive them of something valued or ground them.

When it came to Isabella, such things would have easily been Charlie's method of condoning bad behaviour, for Luna, however?

The man simply laughed.

Charlie had actually made a list when he first learnt about his daughter's past, a list literally titled 'How to Give Your Traumatised Daughter a Normal Childhood'.

It was sad at times how simple the listed experiences were, others, however, such as right now, left the man in hysterics watching his daughter pout the entire way home.

"So, you wanna tell me what really happened?" He chuckles, noticing her lips pinch irritably - a sign she was either about to pout for another three hours or throw a knife at something.

"Didn't my teacher tell you?" She grumbles.

"Something about you and the Cullen boys disrupting the class? Doesn't sound much like you, so I'm curious." Charlie shrugs.

Sighing the ravenette answered. "The big one thought he was clever with his little notes and if I didn't prove to him otherwise, I would have kneed him in the -"

"Hey, detentions are fine, but I don't want to find a lawsuit on my desk anytime soon." He interrupts.

"Clearly you don't wanna see Mike's nose then." She mumbles.

"Mike? As in Karen and John Newton's boy? What did you do?"

"He was getting handsy!" She defends, shuddering at the memory. "You try have some blonde prat rubbing up against your arse!"

"He did what?" Charlie grits harshly. "Did you break it at least?"

"Almost." She nods. "After a week it's still blue and purple."

"That's my girl."

Father and daughter shared a smile, the rest of the ride remaining comfortingly silent. It was probably one of the things the two bonded on most, the ability to hold effortless silence without a shred of awkwardness between them - that was until Charlie decided to voice his thoughts.

"So, you and the Cullen boys?" He muses. "Anything going on there?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you know, you are beautiful young woman and youre at an age where youre going to become curious of your options and-"

"Pateras!" Luna shrieks, covering her ears and shaking her head in disgust. "Gross, no, no, no, not in a million years!"

"Considering your immortal, that's not very comforting." Charlie grumbles. "But seriously, you know you can tell me, right?"

"I know and if anything happens, I'm going to Sue." She admits. "No offense Pateras, but there are some things that are easier discussed with a woman.

Charlie shrugged. That works, cause I honestly didnt really wanna hear about it.

"Nobody wants to hear about their child's sex lives." Luna deadpans.

"You're having sex?!"

"Virgin as the day I was born." She quickly assures.
