Chapter I. The Case.

>> Shuichi's pov

I wake up from the sound of my alarm ringing. i groan in annoyance.. trying to tap it to stop it.. I didnt succeed. I huff. getting up. stopping the alarm properly.. standing up. i did a few stretches. groaning softly.. Picking up my phone to see.. Shit!- Im late! Was the alarm didnt wake me up the first time?? its 6:30! it was supposed to wake me up at 6! ugh-! fuck fuck! i gotta get going..!- I started to dress up. just getting a banana as a snack on the way to the detective agency..

soon. i arrived. it was 7..- oh god..- i walk in anxiously. heading to my uncle's office.. i knock on the door. before slowly opening it..

"U-Uhm.. Uncle..?"

I mutter out. My uncle quickly noticed me and gave a light smile.

"Ah! Shuichi! Your here.. Did you oversleep again?"

"aha.. y-yeah.. sorry.."

Ive been losing a lot of sleep lately. it was all because of a case Ive been stuck on for over a week..it was the Case of the Phantom theif.. it was one of the hardest.. a lot of detectives gave up on it.. and soon.. it was passed onto me..

"Thats okay. besides. i have great news for you."

My uncle said. which got my attention.

"Wh-Whats the news..?"

As if on cue.. i heard someone open the door. i look over.. to see.. a girl.. who's probably around my age.. i gulped.

"ah! miss Kirigiri, Your here early!"

Kirigiri..?

"Yes. id rather come early."

Kirigiri said.. She had a more cold and serious  tone of voice. which sent shivers down my spine..

"Ah.. so.. th..the news..?"

I mutter anxiously. i didnt like meeting new people.. i tried to avoid Kirigiri's eye contact by hiding my eyes with my hat..

"Right, The news is.. Miss Kyoko Kirigiri will help you on the Phantom theif case."

"Help..?"

"Mhm. She will help you do the investigating only though.. you can try to focus more on the arresting this theif.."

"ah.. i-i understand.."

I intertwine my fingers anxiously.. looking at Kyoko.. Gulping.. I nervously took out my hand and offered it..

"Sh-Shuichi Saihara.. N-Nice to meet you.. I hope we can solve this case.."

Kyoko would just stare at me coldly.. before soon, taking my hand and shaking it.

"Indeed."

Just that one word that was said in a cold tone made me nervous.. will she be strict..? i-i hope not..

My Uncle Looked at us with a smile.

"Another good news.. We know where the phantom theif will do his next hiest."

Both me and Kyoko look at my Uncle.

"Really? Where."

Kyoko asked.

"Korekiyo's Historical Art Museum."

My uncle said. I turned to Kyoko.

"Ill inform them to put extra security in."

She said. I gulped. Korekiyo was one of my classmates back in high school. He had always been a big fan of Anthropology.. to the point that it was getting creepy.. Korekiyo wont let anything happen to his prized artifacts. I let out a Sigh.

"I..Ill do my best to capture the theif.."

I mutter quietly.

"I know you will.. now get ready. the hiest is at midnight."

"M..Midnight?!- Today..?!-"

I raised my words in shock, that fast..??-

"Yes.. Unfortunately.."

".."

"I..I understand.. i apologize for raising my voice Uncle.."

My Uncle smiled at me.

"Its alright.. anyways.. you two are dismissed.."

Then Kyoko and I left. Going back to my Apartment.. to get ready.. it was around 9:30 am.. so i still have a bit of time to try and figure out the Identity of The Phantom Thief..

I got to Work..
