Author POV (ft Shinobu):
The insect pillar frowned as Minato wisked Giyu away into her room, so they could "catch up." The other pillars didn't look too happy either, assumingly because it was obvious the hot new Hashira was interested in Giyu. Shinobu was upset for the same reason.
Mitsuri immediantly noticed her best friend's discomfort and quickly excused them both from the meeting. Mitsuri took Shinobu into her room and sat down on her bed.
"You're jealous because of Minato, aren't you?" The love pillar asked firmly.
"Well.."
Shinobu POV:
Mitsuri's question hit hard, even though I already knew it in my heart.
It was too early yet to see if Minato definetly liked Giyu in that way, since they did only appear to be "childhood friends", but I had a growing suspicion and a bad feeling in my stomach.
What's worse is that if Minato did like Giyu, then I had no chance. Giyu was one of the more handsome and non-taken ones of the Hashira, and how would he choose me over Minato?
Firstly, she was so much hotter and prettier then me. She's slim and elegant, and no doubt powerful as well. She was the perfect match for someone like Giyu. Minato had just erased all hope from my heart and no doubt the Hanahaki disease would be coming stronger now.
"I can help you if you want," Mitsuri offered, "I'm great at pairing people up!"
"No, thank you, Mitsuri." I sighed. The love pillar, though my best friend, was known for being overally touchy when "pairing people up".
"Okay, then, your choice," Mitsuri shrugged, "But tell me if the Hanahaki gets worse. You can't die, you know that? The Hashiras need you."
"Yeah, well... they've got Minato-san now, haven't they?" I mumbled. Mitsuri immediantly pounced on the words and shouted, "Hey! Don't think of her as your replacement! That's not fair to yourself! Besides, it's not guarenteed she and Tomioka-san will be together!"
I flinched. Mitsuri wasn't one to yell but she was passionate about self-worth.
"Shh! You're being too loud." I quickly said but it was too late. I could already hear footsteps.
Someone knocked on the door and Mitsuri chirped, "Come on in!"
Minato POV:
I almost flinched in disguist as I spotted the ridiculously purple Hashira with the love pillar. Mitsuri was nice enough to me, and she was also blunt and obnoxious enough to be tricked easily.
"Mitsuri-san! Shinobu-san! I heard shouting, so I thought something was wrong. Sorry, I'm a bit anxious! But you two are the only other females, so I thought I should get to know you two better! We should become a trio!" I grinned as I threw my arm around the two female pillars.
Shinobu flinched at the sudden contact and I could tell she didn't like me, but Mitsuri happily hugged me back. I made a mental note to get on Shinobu's nerves innocently. It would make her seem more of the angry-touchy-sensitive type and was sure to make Tomm- Tomioka-san to dislike her more.
Although I didn't have love powers, I could tell Tomioka-san had a relationship (if not romantic) with Shinobu. Before when I was a lower-ranked Slayer, I had mentally prepared to become a Hashira and find my way into the maze of love. You could fool anyone if everyone liked you, and it would be good to have a lover in the midst of pillars.
I had been spying on the Hashiras for a long time now, enough to see that the insect pillar was the only one who talked and teased Tomioka-san.
I'd picked the water Hashira as my target a long time before. It was convenient that we had met when I was a human (I remembered it vaguely) since it meant he trusted me more. Also, he was by far the coldest and hardest to befriend, let alone love, amongst the Hashira. If I could make someone like him love me geniunly, then Iwould be seen as the friendliest. Everyone would trust her.
And if they trusted me, I would be able to deceive them so easily. I could already tell a lot of males were simping over me, but I didn't need them. Giyu was my only target.
But Shinobu was in my way. She was the most annoying of them all, overally chatty to Giyu and too pretty to be discarded as a potential threat. In fact, she was a big threat. During my chat with Tomioka-san, he had talked about her the most out of all the Hashiras.
It was unclear if Giyu liked the insect pillar romantically, but they had a strong relationship and it seemed obvious that Shinobu liked Giyu.
Now, I just needed to make Giyu break off with the annoying insect Hashira and everything would go along as planned.
What better way to defeat the Demon Slayers then break their best swordsman from the inside?
Author POV (ft. Shinobu):
"We're going to be such good friends! Us girls just have to stick together, you know?" Mitsuri giggled and Minato laughed along. Shinobu chuckled quietly but something was off about her.
"Soo, Minato-san, in order to bond, we've gotta play a round of Truth or Dare, am I right?" Shinobu said, winking.
"Yes, yes! The best idea!" Mitsuri cried, clapping her hands.
"Agreed!" Minato smiled, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.
"Minato-san, Truth or Dare?" Shinobu asked, going in for the kill.
"Truth!" Minato answered cheerfully.
"Who's your crush?" Shinobu asked, pouncing. Mitsuri was obviously delighted by this choice. She loved gossip and news.
"Ohh... funny you should ask!" Minato giggled, "I've known Tomioka-san as a child, and he's always been my best friend since we lost touch, but I think I may have developed feelings for him..! He's just so handsome now, I can't believe it!"
So that confirmed it, Shinobu thought.
"Ohh! How cute! You two are great together!" Mitsuri said, shooting a glance at Shinobu.
Shinobu quickly recomposed her dissapointed expression into a fake-happy face. "Yes, agreed! It does seem like you've got every guy wrapped around your pinky, though. Why Tomioka-san?" Shinobu tried to say this in an easygoing, gossip-manner.
"Oh well, he just stands out, y'know? So much more good-looking, and I don't know why, but his emotionless expression is so cute! When someone rarely smiles, and you make them smile, it just makes the smile more precious to you, right?" Minato grinned.
Sadly, Shinobu had to agree with this. It was part of the reason she liked Giyu.
"So, Mitsuri, Truth or Dare..?"
The game contuined, but Shinobu was barely paying attention. Her throat was feeling dry again..
A/N: Thank you for reading! I'll be updating this book daily as best as possible, which sadly means my other books won't get much attention for now, but once I finish this one, I'll be sure to work on the others! Also, Minato is my own OC, so please don't steal <33
