Mike looks at Steve in shock. He had never heard of 'King Steve'. He certainly doesn't look like a king. Mike doesn't like his voice, hair, or the way he dresses, but Mike assumes that he's being way too judgemental to someone he just met.
Steve still smirks as the girl looks between him and Mike, snickering before she pushes Steve playfully. "Don't listen to "King Steve". He's not actually a king, he tells himself that to make himself feel better." She laughs.
"Hey! I am a king!"
"Steve was the one who actually found this place, but he's no king." She smiles, "I'm Robin if you were wondering. And he," She points towards the guy with long black hair. "That's Eddie. They're both annoying if you get to know them. Trust me."
Steve pushes her back, making her laugh harder. Eddie goes over to Lady Dolly and starts to play with her. Mike wants to say something but he's so confused to the point where he is speechless.
Steve looks at Mike and frowns, "I recognize you. I don't know where from but.." He trails off.
"I don't understand," Mike starts, ignoring what Steve had said. "Why are you all here? There is a town near the castle. Why don't you live over there instead of here?" He asks them.
The three of them share a look before Eddie speaks up. "The king kicked us out. King Lonno or whatever the hell his name is."
"King Lonnie." Steve corrects him.
"Why were you kicked out?" Mike asks again.
Robin shrugs, "We don't know. He chooses people to kick out for the new babies. He doesn't want the town to get too 'overpopulated' he says. We know it's bullshit. As long as you aren't 'normal' or sexually appealing to him, you'll get kicked out. Once this mother and her two sons got kicked out of that hellhole because she was 'getting old'. His words, not mine. They live here now."
"Yeah. He's a real asshat." Steve adds on.
"Is he still king?" Eddie asks.
Mike shakes his head, "No. His son took over." He glances at Will, who starts to cough up blood. "Shit. Can we go inside, please?" Mike pleads.
Robin glances at Will and nods, opening the gates. Steve leads them inside, and the village is beautiful. The town was very pretty, but this village is definitely better. It's filled with cheerful people, laughter, and genuinely happy families. It makes Mike miss his family even more, and he can tell it makes Will feel the same just by the way he looks.
He starts to close his eyes slowly, but Mike taps his cheek softly. "Will, keep your eyes open, okay? I know you lost a lot of blood, and you're still losing it, but don't pass out on me, alright? Please."
Will nods, opening his eyes to the best of his abilities, but Mike knows that he can't keep them open forever.
Robin looks at them, sadness covering her face. "I'm sorry. I shot him." She apologizes.
Mike looks up at her. "It's fine. As long as you help him, I'm sure he'll forgive you. He's a very forgiving and caring person." He looks down at Will once again with a soft smile. "Which is why I love him."
"Oh? He's actually your lover? Steve was just teasing."
"Yeah. He is." Is all Mike says before they make it to a tent. Mike looks at it with confusion as Steve backs away. "Eddie and I will be going. You guys have fun." He says, dragging Eddie away.
Mike doesn't question it as Robin opens the tent and walks inside. Mike follows after her and sees a ginger-haired girl. Her hair is short and as soon as she sees the three of them, her smile fades. "Oh, what happened?" She asks, worried.
Mike sets Will down on the mattress that she has laid next to her. "Um, he got shot." He answers. The girl sighs and looks at Robin. "Robin, what did I say about shooting people?"
"I didn't mean to actually shoot him! It wasn't supposed to hit him!" She defends herself.
The ginger-haired girl rolls her eyes and motions for Robin to come over to her. Once she does, she gives the girl a peck on the lips.
Mike's jaw drops slightly, making the girl laugh. "Sorry, you must be confused. I'm Vickie, Robin's girlfriend. By the way, I am so so so sorry that Robin shot your.." She pauses for a second before continuing, "Your brother. I told her to put the bow and arrow away but she never listens to me. She's a little all over the place if you couldn't tell." Vickie keeps going.
Mike tries to pay attention, but he can't because he is so worried about Will who is currently bleeding out on the mattress.
She shakes her head before grabbing a bottle. "Sorry, sometimes I talk a lot." She says as she pours some of whatever is in the bottle onto Will. Will hisses in pain, flinching badly. Mike watches as Vickie caresses his hair in a way to calm him, but it doesn't really work.
"I'm so sorry." She says as she grabs the arrow carefully. Mike assumes that she's gonna pull the arrow out, which makes his shoulder feel pain even though he's not the one experiencing this.
"No, no, no! Don't pull it out! Just cut it off? The point can be kept in my skin!" Will begs, starting to cry again.
Vickie shakes her head. "Normally I would do that, but the arrows that Robin uses have poison on the tips. Unless you wanna have a slow, painful death, I would need to pull it out."
Will shakes his head frantically. "Please, Mike! Don't let them do this!"
Mike closes his eyes, not wanting to see Will in so much pain.
Will starts to squirm, in an attempt to move away from Vickie, causing his shoulder a lot more pain.
"Robin, hold him down." He hears Vickie say. He opens his eyes to see Robin holding down Will. He's trying to get free, but Mike knows that he needs to get this arrow out of him.
He closes his eyes again and hears Will scream in pain as the arrow is pulled out. Will is sobbing, and Mike hates to hear the sound of that. He opens his eyes once again to see Vickie putting a cloth on Will's wound, trying to stop the blood from rushing out.
Will is now crying silently, covering his face with his bloody hands. Mike feels like he might puke, so he excuses himself to leave the tent. A couple of minutes pass before Robin walks out of the tent, putting a hand on Mike's shoulder. He flinches softly and looks at Robin, who looks guilty. Mike has the wanting to yell at her, but he knows that he shouldn't.
"You should go see him. He wants you." Robin says.
"He's mad at me." Mike says, "It's best if I don't go see him right now. I'm the reason he got shot. If I would have never stolen, he wouldn't be in this position right now."
"Don't beat yourself up over it. Stuff happens sometimes." She says, walking back into the tent. Mike shrugs even though he knows she can't see it. As he's going to walk into the tent, he hears a familiar voice call him.
"Mike?"
