We had decided to leave some cars behind to save up on gas. Daryl had suggested that we leave the truck behind and that he take his motorbike instead as it take less fuel. I was still deciding if I was going with Dale or Rick when Daryl drove up to me. "Get on!" I heard him say over the loud noise of the bike. I give him a curious look before smirking. "Don't start, get your ass on here." He rolls his eyes at me.
"I didn't say anything." I say with my hands up before I climb behind him moving to make sure I was comfortable. Daryl looks over his shoulder at me. "You didn't have to. Hold on woman, I won't catch you if your dumb ass falls off." Now wouldn't it be funny, if I just...
"Is that so, well then." I lean further back and lift my feet up acting as if I'm about to fall off. Daryl grips my arm and pulls me back; he glares at me. He pulls his arm away from me once I'm back in the right position, he turns away from me, so that his back was now facing me, clearly upset that I had done that. "Thought you said you wouldn't catch me?" I question raising a brow at him.
Daryl scoffs, shaking his head. I notice that the tips of his ears are red. Is he blushing? "You're a pain woman." I laugh at him. "You love me." Silence takes over the two of us. I can't stop my blush from appearing on my cheeks. I lean forward and wrap my arms around his waist. I feel him stiffen before he relaxes.
"Whatever, just hold on tight." He says, I tighten my grip and he revs the bike taking off in front of the cars as everyone else also starts driving away.
As we set off, I begin to think. Driving always helped me clear my mind and this is also true when it comes to being on a motorcycle. I was able to think more clearly. Gosh I could feel the butterflies in my stomach and I'm not sure if I like them or not. Daryl and I have always been friends but now I'm seeing him in a new light, what worries me about this is that I may be the only one feeling like this. Daryl's not known for his affection towards others, and it could be that he doesn't know how to feel that way either. I give him a glance and sigh, why did I have to feel this way for this stupid redneck. I look behind us and see the caravan slow down and come to a stop. I give Daryl a tap on his shoulders and nod my head towards Dale's van. We slow down next to the van.
Dale sticks his head out slightly. "See a way through?" Daryl nods, signaling Dale to follow us. We weave through the cars with the RV following behind us. Suddenly a loud bang comes from the RV, and I slightly jump from the sound. We stop and I climb off the bike I turn and walk up to Dale who is walking to the front of his RV where there seems to be smoke coming out of it.
"I said it. Didn't I say it? Thousand times. Dead in the water." I hear him say as I walk over to them. "Problem, Dale?" Shane asks as he walks over to Dale from inside the car.
