Daryl's POV

I lie with my hand behind my head, trying to get some rest but Carol's sobbing hasn't stopped. Not only that, but my mind has been focused on Alex. She left with Glenn and T-Dog; they were headed to the farm.

I was worried about her. She hasn't been doing well since we left the camp. Something's been up with her lately and I feel slightly guilty for it. I mean I could have found Sophia by now if we didn't keep getting interrupted. I shake my head, growling slightly out of frustration, could she get out of my mind for one moment!

I rise from my position no longer feeling tired. I grab my bow from its place on the wall. "l need my clip now. I'm gonna walk the road, look for the girl." I say to Andrea as she hands me my clip. I give a nod to Carol before walking outside.

Dale is still where we left him, on the roof of the RV. I hear someone follow behind. "I'm coming, too." Andrea says as I turn to face her. I didn't really want her to come with me. I needed to clear my head and search for Sophia, she would just be a distraction.

I ignore her giving Dale a nod. "I'm going for a walk. Shine some light in the forest. If she's out there, give her something to look at." I move to leave but Dale always has an extra comment to add to every decision any of us make. "Do you think that's a good idea right now?" He says bending down on his hinges. I stop walking to acknowledge what he has to say.

"Dale." Andrea calls out. Walking past me nearly bumping my shoulder. I shake my head and follow her.

Alex's POV

We arrived at the farm, I gave a sigh before getting out of the car, I was scared to see Carl. He had been shot and it terrified me, he reminds me of my brother so much so that I even considered him family, I couldn't lose him not like I lost my brother. I glance over at T-Dog to see him shivering from the cold.

We walk up to the door, the stairs have some blood on them, causing me to feel sick. "So, do we ring the bell? l mean, it looks like people live here." Glenn says to us, I huff at this. Idiot. "We're past this kind of stuff, aren't we? Having to be considerate." T-Dog says to us as he sways slightly, I grab his arm helping him up the stairs onto the porch.

"Did you close the gate up the road when you drove in?" A voice says from a chair on the porch, I jump at the sudden entrance of Greene, that was her what she said right? "Uh, hi. Yes, we closed it. Did the latch and everything. Well, nice to see you again. We met before briefly." Glenn says avoiding eye contact with Maggie, I chuckle slightly.

Glenn's got a crush. "Look, we came to help. There anything we can do. It's not a bite. I cut myself pretty bad though." T-Dog says weakly, I tighten my grip on his arm to keep him up.

I glance worriedly at the Greene woman scared she wouldn't let us in or that she would suspect that T-Dog has been bitten instead. "We'll have it looked at. I'll tell them you're here." I breathe a sigh of relief.

"We have some painkillers and antibiotics. l already gave him some. If Carl needs any." Glenn says pulling the pills out of his bag and showing it to the woman. She walks past us to the door. "Come on inside. I'll make you something to eat." She opens the door for us to walk in. The thought of food makes my stomach growl and I realise just how hungry I am.

We walk in and the woman walks us over to the kitchen first, "That would be amazing thank you." I smile at her, silently thanking her. "Not a problem at all." She gives me a smile back. I reach my hand out.

"I'm Alex."

"Maggie." She shakes my hand with a smile. I have a feeling her and I are going to be great friends. We follow Maggie to the room, I look inside and see Carl on the bed, his blood pressure being taken, my heart skips a beat and memories come crashing down on me.

Memories of Malik lying in a hospital bed with an IV in his arm, how weak he looked, how cold he felt to touch. It was like I was experiencing it all over again. Glenn pulls his hat off and scratches his head, "Hey." Rick looks up from his position. Lori has a firm grip on his arm.

"Hey." The old man stands up from the bed and looks over to us before he continues what he was doing before we came in. Rick looks tired and I grow worried for them both. "Um, we're here, okay?" Glenn says trying to help the situation. I could feel my heart beating faster and I knew immediately that this would lead to a panic attack if I didn't go outside soon.

"Thank you." Lori says for them, nodding her head. I nod my head back slowly making my way out the room. I turn and leave the room walking out the room and onto the porch. I try to control my breathing. I don't want to remember what happened to Malik. I try to push down the horrible feeling that starts to rise in my chest. No Alex don't think about it. Remember to breath, in and out; my father's words making their way to me remembering how he would calm me down when this usually happened. My breath begins to slow, and I take a seat on the stairs to collect myself again.

I hear the door open behind me. "Hey." The concerned voice of Maggie says from behind me. I look behind me and notice that she is trying to keep her distance.

"Hey." I say back to her, standing up and moving closer to her. She looks at me with a frown and I knew what was about to be asked. "You alright?" She asks. I didn't really want to answer but I if I didn't it would stress her out even more.

I sigh before I answer her, "Yes and no." I gross my arms over my chest feeling the cold. "You want to talk about it?" I look up to her, it is sweet of her to want to help but this is something I've been dealing with ever since I was a teen.

"Not really, not right now, I guess." I shake my head. She nods her head back to me.

"That's okay, come on. Food is ready." She smiles at me holding the door open for me to walk through first. I smile back at her as I walk past. I move to take a seat at the table and smile at the food in front of me.
