"...Child of the orange moon?" I felt my throat suddenly dry up. "Y-You're-?"

"A moon child? Yes." he smirked. "I never thought I would ever meet a child of the white moon. You are a rarity indeed."

I narrowed my eyes.

"And you are also young. That is good." he looked at Yohan. "Ah, is this the pup?"

Yohan pursed his lips.

"Hello, Yohan. I see you are still as quiet as ever."

"...Hello...Sinopia..."

I watched as Sinopia greeted Yohan with a warm smile. I've never met another moon child aside from my mother.

"Eunseo told me quite a bit about you." he directed his words to me. "I hear that you cannot produce any magic of your own. Am I correct?"

"...Yes."

"Ah..." he chuckled. "There is only one reason for that. Let me guess, you were struck with Helos crystals, right?"

My eyes widened as he spoke.

"It would seem that you were taught nothing. You are a mere child who doesn't know how to defend herself. You don't know the first thing about defending yourself against the one thing that can ultimately kill you. You must be very careless."

"Hey, wait a minute-!"

"How foolish of you to put your life in danger. Do you have any idea-?"

"It's not what you think! Wait a minute, who are you to judge me for-?"

"I never said I was judging you. But I might as well be. Who taught you to be so careless?"

"I wasn't being careless! I was just-!"

"You were just what? What on earth were you doing?"

I balled my hands into fists. "I don't need to take this. Not right now." I turned my back to him and stormed off.

"Walking away isn't going to solve anything!" Sinopia called after me.

"Fuck off!" I barked. I covered my ears as he began to laugh.

That night, I soaked in the bath until my fingers were pruney. I made sure to stay as far away from the pavilion as possible. That meant that I hid in the art studio working on the portrait for Lady Gim.

"That bastard." I climbed out of the bath and dried myself off. "Who does he think he is? He doesn't even know me." I put on my robe and walked into the bedroom. Yohan was sitting at the table pouring some tea into a cup. He looked up at me and pat the space on the floor next to him.

"Are you alright?" he asked.

"I hate him." I sat on the floor and crossed my arms.

Yohan reached for a plate of chrysanthemum cookies and placed them in front of me.

"He didn't have to say that. He could have asked what happened. He made it seem like I made all the mistakes."

Yohan sat back on his hands. "I can agree that I did not like his choice of words or his tone. His approach was wrong but..."

"But?" I glared up at him. "But why?"

"If he is going to help you...I think you should listen to what he has to say."

I pursed my lips.

"If he can help you, then I would not throw away this opportunity. Especially since we don't know what Lord Baldwin is planning."

I rolled my eyes before leaning forward on the table.

"I know that you don't like him. I don't really like him either. But if he can make some valid points...then I don't see anything wrong with that." he said. "At least..."
