Chapter 14: Max Leonhardt

Max: blonde hair and small blue eyes.

Max's POV
I was running from those damned Titans when I see a cute girl with a green cape and some wings on it... Are them the famous 'Wings of Freedom'?

She had turquoise eyes and brown hair, chiseled soft pale face and black eyelashes. Damn she's fine.

I use my stolen maneuver gear to run away from a Titan's hand; suddenly my white hoodie gets caught in a branch.

"Shit!" I whisper under my breath.

Those beautiful turquoise eyes look at me. She sees the Titan chasing me and she took off. She climbed up its arm, on its torso and then swiftly ran her blades trough the Titan's nape. Her eyes turned to a glowing yellow, staring into my soul.

"What the hell do you stare at?" I ask her.

"Well, you see, I never saw you before, you have maneuver gear and control it better then most of my squad does, and clearly you are not from the Survey Corps.... Care to explain?"

"I'll explain it to you only if you get me out of here."

"Yeah, sure, you think I would trust a stranger? First, who are you?"

I sighed. I couldn't convince her. She's smart.

"I'm Max Leonhardt. I live in a house in this forest, with my mother."

"I'm Mia Jäger, nice to meet you." she says, shaking my hand.

"Yeah, nice to meet you too."

"Where did you learn to use your maneuver gear?"

"My mother learned me when I was 12."

"How old are you?"

"I'm 16."

"Do you know anything besides how to use the maneuver gear?"

"Yes, I'm very good in martial arts. Kind of."

"Ok mister, I'm going to get you out of there." she said getting my hoodie off the branch.

We both stay on the ground talking some more until more people with same capes come.

"Mia, who is this?" someone with black hair and greyish eyes asked.

"This is Max, Max Leonhardt." Mia said pointing to me.

"This reminds me of something..." a blonde with brown eyes said. "I know now! Three families have been given Titan powers! The Reiss', The Jäger's and the... Leonhardt's!"

"So, blondie, are you a Titan-shifter?" a girl with red-brownish hair and greyish eyes asked.

"Does it matter." I say with a cold expression on my face.

"Please Max!" Mia said.

"Alright, I am, so what?"

"I'm too! Yay!" Mia said jumping up and down.

I could almost see the black haired man boiling.

Almost.

"Would you like to come with us?" a man with a dirty blonde hair asked.

"Um, where exactly?"

"With us!" Mia said excited.

"I don't think this is a good idea." the black haired man said.

"It's a perfect idea Heichou Sam!" the blondie said.

So this man was called Sam?

Alright.

"Let's go!" Mia said jumping up and down then dragging me to a horse.

We made 1 hour until I see a huge wall... Around 50m tall. The Titans couldn't get I there by any chance!

We went inside a huge building where Mia leaded me to my dorm. So I guess this is it. I mind-linked mom about all of this.

'They took you?!'

'Yes but it's awesome here! And I'll be back soon! Plus I found this cute girl named Mia Jäger!'

'Jäger... Jäger... I've heard of it!'

'And?'

'She's the daughter of Eren Jäger! The one I told you about when you heard those sounds in the forest when you were ten. He's a Titan-shifter that means she also is. Be careful around her ok?'

'Yeah mom, sure.'

'Goodbye.'

'Bye.'

And I close the mind-link.
Suddenly the blondie entered my room.

"Hey, Corporal told me to announce you about the hand to hand combat training we have right now."

"Well, alright. What's your name blondie?"

"Tara Arlert. Future queen to you."

"Feisty. I like it."

I make my way outside the building and go to the training grounds. We got paired up by Hanji, I believe her name is. The pairs were:

-Leigh and Alex

-Tara and Sam

-Me and Mia

I took my position in front of Mia. She tried to make the first move, by punching me in the nose but I caught her hand and pushed her ankle, making her fall to the ground. She made a backflip and got up, charging at me.

She fell because I put my leg where she was charging. She tried to push me down but I just put my hand on her face, stopping her from running and falling to the ground.

"Owww. Gimme a hand Max."

"Won't you get up by yourself?" I said getting her up.

I then see who won:

-Leigh

-Sam

-Me

First round was me and Sam. I want to see what this so called captain can do.

"Ready blondie?" he said threatening me.

"More then ever shortie." I said smirking.

He charged at me and punched me in the face. I quickly tried to kick him but he caught my foot and twisted it making me fall to the ground. He kicked me in the face then pushed my face into the dirt.

"Filthy brat."

I got his leg and dragged him down. He fell to the ground while I punched him in the stomach making him spit blood. I turned my head to the left smirking, seeing Mia getting lines on her cheekbones, her eyes were getting yellow and she was harder and harder to restrain.

While I was looking I was punched to the ground. He kicked me into the shoulder, then took me out of the dirt by the collar.

"I think I win this one." he said spitting blood in my face.

He then let go of my collar and then we all went inside. They all got bandaged but me and Mia just regenerated.

I went into my dorm and thought about continuing my mother's mission. Am I going to continue it or not? I don't really know. Time will tell, I guess.
