Chapter 13: Bring Me To Life

Sam's POV
It was time to see Leigh. They told me she was alright. I missed her so much, thought I still had someone, I missed my only sister.

Me and Mia went to the hospital Leigh is at. We entered room 49 and we saw a happy Leigh jumping up and down.

"Wow, Leigh, you're going to get hurt jumping like this." I say worried.

"No I'm not going to! I missed you big bro!"

"Yeah me too." I said hugging her tight.

"Hey Leigh, how are you?" Mia said bringing her hand out to shake.

"What is she doing here Sam." she said trough gritted teeth.

"Is everything alright?" Mia asks.

"No, no. It's alright. Is that, Mia?"

"Uh I going to leave you two." Mia said opening the door.

"Wait Mia--" the door was shut. "What did you do?"

"What did I do?"

"Leigh, she's my girlfriend."

"So?"

"Don't freaking piss her off, capische?"

"Yeah sure."

After that I left the room to find her, but I bumped into Erwin.

"Sam, we are going into an expedition. Mia is already done with her maneuver gear. Go get ready."

I left to my dorm and put on a white button-up shirt, white jeans, maneuver gear, jacket, my cravat and the cape. I put on my boots and went downstairs. I got on my horse and waited for the exiting.

Mia's POV
We were on our horses, others trembling, others full of excitement. I was just writing to my song. I started writing one because a lot of people told me I had a nice voice, thought I still felt insecure about it.

I wrote and wrote and wrote until I realize we were already entering a forest. I saw behind me hundreds of people getting eaten, squads fully wiped out. I kept writing putting all of it on the paper. I then hear Alex shout.

"Heichou we have to do something about this!"

"Do you freaking want to die?! Sit on your horse and relax, these people wanted to die for humanity, so do you, so shut the hell up!" he said as our horses ran faster.

Alex suddenly gets up his horse and tries to cut the nape of a Titan, but fails and gets caught by a hand of a Titan.

"No!" I scream.

"Mia stop!" Sam said getting beyond furious.

I get up my horse and cut trough the arm of the Titan then fly behind his back, making it follow me and stop following the rest of the squad. I saw Sam scream for me to get back, but I didn't even look back. I suddenly take left avoiding a tree making the Titan hit the tree hard. I was too close, when a hand catches me. I try to cut the hand of the Titan but my blades broke.

"Help..." I say loosing my consciousness.

I then see Sam flying fastly to my direction. He fastly cuts the hand of the Titan into million bits, faster than ever. Is that even possible for someone to cut that fast? I then saw he was holding his blades wrong, was that making him faster? He cut trough the arm making his way to the Titan's neck, he went around the tree then spinned mid-air cutting a big part of the Titan's nape.

Then his murderous eyes met mine. His hair and clothes were full of blood. His face had little drops of blood on it. His cravat was filthy, unlike usual. I get up hardly and hug him tight.

"Don't fucking do that again, please, I beg you." he said exhausted.

"I love you."

"No, say you won't do that again."

"But--"

"NOW."

"I promise.... Are you happy now?"

"More than ever." he said kissing my lips roughly.

When we pulled away I turned my head to the right to see Tara and Alex jumping happily around.

When Sam coughs they both freeze. They salute and run for dear life.

"Let's go back." Sam says going towards his horse.

On the way back another 83 people died 23 women and 60 men. In total there were 147 deaths just today.

Oh my God at least no one from my squad died. Those damned Titans... I'll kill them... I'll kill every last of them. I'll f*cking kill them with cold blood... I'll eat their families!

"Mia! Mia, are you there?" Tara said shooking me.

"Huh?"

"You've been smiling creepily for 5 minutes or so." Tara said really creeped out.

"Jäger, Arlert stop chatting. Titans are following us, be focused on getting back alive." Sam said bossily.

I stopped talking and wrote to my song again. I wrote until we came back. When we entered the wall we heard cries and shouts. Yes, these were the parents. I felt so sorry for them... And I nearly died. I couldn't imagine my parents hearing that... I died... Sam was right.

I shouldn't risk my life like that. I wanted to do something for the people... I know what I was going to do... I rush to my dorm and finish the song. I dress with a pair of shorts and a black top. I put my hair into a messy bun. I put some shoes and I leave outside.

I go where the parents were crying, sad and depressed that their children died on the way to save humanity. Here goes nothing... I start to sing.

I finish and see the families hugging each other, smiling with tears in their eyes.

I then see Sam smirking, for the first time with his squad. Leigh still had a cold expression, as always.

I see Tara cheering for me and I see Alex tearing a bit. I laugh and I hug them all.
