The Future She Saw

"Your device is clear. You can have it back." Ratchet says and hands it back to Shelby that next morning.

"I told you it was fine." She takes it from him and looks it over. 

"You can never be too sure." He remarks and turns back to his computer. 

"So, what does it do?" Miko asks leaning over the railing. 

Shelby gives her a smile before pressing the button on the device. The Autobots stand back, unsure of what to make of the action. Metal shoots out, surrounding her body. The cold metal attaches to her skin, instantly warming as it formed around her. A chest plate covers her with a glowing pink button in the middle. A plate forms on her back as well as armor covering her arms and legs. She knocks her head forward, and a helmet wraps around, and a visor comes down over her face. She hears the oos and ahhs from the other in the room. All was curious about her new suit. To her, it feels just like it did in her dreams. Like the first time she tried it on, and that part wasn't a dream. 

She doesn't remember how she got put into the coma. She wonders if she had this in her grasp maybe it would have been able to save her. Then Miko races down to the ground level and walks around her. Taking in the new look. 

"You look so amazing!" she squeals. 

"Thank you. It feels just how I remember it." Shelby admits. 

"Does it do anything, besides protect you?" Bulkhead asks, still in wonder about her armor. 

"I don't know. I only got to use it once in real life. I know I can holster my weapons on here. Wait a second. My visor is doing something funny." Shelby stops talking and everyone stares at her waiting for her to continue. 

Inside her visor symbols and levels show up, lighting up her face. Different actions come up and she has trouble figuring it out. The others stare at her as she moves around taking in the new information. She is able to look differently at the bots. She sees like an x-ray of them. 

"I can see everything. Wow this is so strange. I don't remember this happening when I first used it." she says in awe. 

"What is it doing?" Ratchet asks, leaning down closer to her. 

"I can see like an x-ray of you guys. When I look at one of you specifically, I see levels. I don't know what they mean though. Oh, I can see though the wall too!" She says excitedly. Her face pointed to the nearest wall. "Wait what does this do?"

A button or a like a button pops up at the lower part of her screen. Unsure of how to press it, she mental presses it. It works and before their eyes, the arms of the suit begin to transform around her hands. Placed over her hands are a set of blasters armed and ready to fire. The bots in the room take a step back. Some even place their hands over their face and she started to freak out a bit, waving them around. 

"What is happening?" she yells as she accidentally sends a blast towards the ceiling. 

"I was able to add a few things to make better use of it." Ratchet said from the other side of the room. 

"How do I make it stop?" She sets off another blast, making everyone duck and cover. 

"Do what you did to turn the blasters on." Ratchet yelled over her, and the others shrieks.

"I don't know what I did. I just thought about it." she answers in realization, "Oh!" 

She looks at her screen and focuses on the button again. The blasters release from her hands and slink back into the uniform. Then she presses the real pink button on her chest and the suit collapses back into the device. She huffs and puffs from the adrenaline coursing through her veins.
