Let Them Come

She was sound asleep when she was awoken by the loud voice of a certain special agent. Of all the people to come back for her, she wasn't expecting Agent Fowler. Her eyes snap open and she leans up a bit, trying to see out in the hall way. Unfortunately, where she is laying, she can only see a wall.

"I'm sorry but you can't go back there. Only family can." Shelby hears a nurse call out.

"I am family." Fowler growls, loud footsteps make there way down the hallway. Getting louder the closer they come to her room.

Fowler was moving so quickly, he almost walks right past her room. He stops short and takes a step back before walking in. A smile grows on her face, excited for someone to be there. Even if it is Agent Fowler.

"Knockout?" She questions, hoping he was the reason that Fowler showed up.

"Yes. He made it and it looks like he will be joining the Autobots. How did you do it?" He asks.

"I didn't do anything. The second he saved me, he sealed his fate with the Decepticons. He knew what he was risking by saving me. I am very grateful he was the one to find me." She says with a little bit of ice at the end of her tone.

"It was too risky for us to go in there to look for you. The cons were crawling all over the place. Wheeljack even tried to go in, but we didn't need him to get captured either. As soon as they left, the military and I went in to try and find you, but you were already gone." Fowler explained.

"I know. I wasn't even supposed to make it out alive. I'm still surprised I did." She expressed.

"We are all shocked too, to be honest. That suit could take a lot more damage than we thought." He admits.

"How's Dreadwing? The children? The rest of the Autobots? Please tell me no one shot at Knockout?" She starts to rattle off questions.

"Everyone is fine. Still adjusting to the new base, but alive. Knockout is fine too. The others aren't to keen on him being there, but Optimus seems to trust him. I'm assuming that's because of you." Fowler gives her a side eye.

She gives a small smile, "Yes. He saved my life. He could have let me die or hand me over to Megatron. But he didn't. There is good in him."

"Well let's get you home. Dreadwing is waiting very impatiently for you." The agent smiles down at her.

She gives him a nod and he walks back out of the room. It's not much time later he walks back in with a nurse. In her hand is some paper work. The wires are unhooked, a wheelchair brought in and put next to her bed. They get her into some clothes that Fowler brought with him. The nurse explains everything she needs to do and highly suggests no more motorcycle riding. This leads Shelby to get a weird look from Fowler. She mouths that she'll explain later. She signs her name on the discharge papers and is wheeled out with a large smile on her face.

Out in the waiting room are a few soldiers waiting for them to come out. Shelby gives them a weird look, not expecting such a ordeal. But with the Decepticons out there, its probably safer to have more cover than not enough. When they got out of the hospital, Shelby was hoping to see one of the bots, but all she saw were black SUV's. At least it wasn't military trucks. They would not have been good for the condition she is in.

Agent Fowler rolls her over to the SUV and opens the door. A bit of awkwardness seeps through before one of the the soldiers picks her up out of her wheelchair and places her into the truck. She is able to buckle herself in and they all climb in. The driver starts the car and they leave the hospital parking lot. A smile stays on her face, excited to be out and on her way to the Autobots.

"Motorcycle accident?" Agent fowler inquires, slightly looking over his shoulder at her.

"Knockout thought that would be the easiest way to explain my injures without telling them I was in an explosion." She explained.

"Yeah, he was probably right about that." Fowler seemed pleased with her answer.

The rest of the ride became quiet. No music playing from the speakers. Shelby felt like asking about it, but wasn't sure if that would be allowed. The whole situation felt too serious for her taste. Her eyes lingered outside the window, watching the view around them. It will be a long drive. She learned from the hospital staff her location and was able to figure out a rough estimate of how far way from the new base she was. Maybe an hour in she became way to bored and started to ask questions.

"So, what's been going on while I was gone?" She asks.

"Megatron is trying to rebuild the omega lock. He's been stealing stuff all over the country. You were right. Again. We have Wheeljack tailing the cons covertly. Optimus wants Megatron to rebuild it, but also making sure no one gets hurt." Fowler explained.

"Have they captured Soundwave yet?" She asks, recalling what had happened in her coma.

"No not yet." He answers.

"Hopefully I haven't messed up the timeline to much and Optimus is still able to blast him out of the sky." She says.

"I think you good, kid. The only thing that hasn't happened is Ultra Magnas. He has yet to show up like you said."

"Honestly I didn't think he would. He only came to Earth because of the energy from the Omega lock hitting Earth. We were able to stop it before it could, so I imagine, if anything, Ultra Magnas went to Cybertron. If he got any sign of that energy." Shelby explains, shrugging her shoulders.

"We could really use the bot power." He sighed.

"I agree, though, I'm not sure how the bots would contact him. Unless he is able to contact us." She says, looking out the window.

Agent Fowler grunts in acknowledgment and the car ride falls silent again. They continue to drive on the highway. Everything flying past them in a blurr. Shelby doesn't have anything to entertain her, so she tries to fall asleep. Though, her mind is wide awake, excited to be back with Dreadwing and the rest of the Autobots. Her mind runs through all the things she wants to say to him. Watching him walk away, through the ground bridge, hurt more than she possibly imagined. She thought her goodbye was forever. That her 'I love you' was the last time she would ever say it. Now she is given a chance to say it again.

Time goes by, but soon Fowler annouces that they are getting off the highway and will be at base in less than an hour. Her heart begins to beat quickly, like it's about to beat right out of her chest. A moment she never thought she would get is about to happen and she can't wait. She stares back out the window, a smile riding on her face. As she is watching the clouds, she notices something. Its looks like a drone, flying in the distance. Her teeth clench and her eyes hardened.

"We are being followed." She growls.

The driver starts to slam on the brakes of the SUV.

"No, don't stop! Keep going. I think it's laserbeak. That means that the Autobots have Soundwave. Ratchet needs to get onto the Nemisis. Keep driving." She informs.

"But they will know our location." Fowler reminds her.

"I know but if this all goes as it did before. He will send Starscream and we will be able to deceive him." She also reminds him from her coma.

Agent fowler groans but tell the driver to keep going.

"Warn the Autobots." She orders and Agent Fowler does just that.
