3rd POV

"Tonight. Tomorrow, I don't know. I don't know about tomorrow." Hogarth and Emma look at each other happily as he closes the door and begins walking away towards the Giant sleeping as Hogarth says, "Sleep tight." Emma adds, "We'll see you tomorrow." They notice the sun slowly rising as they leave hurting back home. They arrived at the house as Emma opens the window climbing in first with Hogarths help as she then helps him in as well as they were tired as well. They make their way to the bed as Hogarth lifts the cover only for his mom to open the door seeing them as she says more to Hogarth, "You're up, already?" Emma then says, "Just making the bed." "That's nice. Come downstairs you two. I have a surprise for you." She closes the door as they both sigh as Emma says, "I guess no sleep today." He nods as she goes over to the drawers and takes out some of her clothes and heads to the bathroom. The two finished changing and go downstairs into the dinning seeing someone reading the newspaper as he notices the two enter, "Morning, sport. Little lady. Sleep well?" Emma looks at him confused, not sure who he is as Hogarth says, "Mom?"

Anna comes in with two plates smiling at the two, "Isn't it wonderful, Hogarth, Emma? We finally rented our room." Hogarth says not pleased, "Ugh. I'm not very hungry." Emma then asks, "Isn't he the man who poked his head in when I was getting ready to take a shower?" The two don't look very happy seeing the new guest as they turn and walk away.

Emma POV

I was in the kitchen when I heard the phone ring as I went and picked it up, "Hello, this is the Hughes residence, Emma speaking. Who's calling, please?" It was Dean as he says, "I said he could stay the night, kid. It's morning now." I then whisper as low as I can, "Look, we're trying to come over. But there's this weird guy here who's watching us." I then see the door opening revealing the man Kent looking at me as I just go back to the phone with Dean, "I can't talk right now, okay?" "Emma!" "Bye." I hang up as Kent then says, "Who was that, young lady? Friend of yours?" I nod, "Yeah. He's, uh, a new kid." A few minutes later Hogarth and I are going down stairs as Kent was right there waiting for us at the bottom of the steps as he asks, "Hey, mind if I ask you two a few questions there, buckaroos?" We are in the living room as he asks, "Now, why would you tell your mom about a giant robot, sluggers?" We are in the kitchen now as I just hand Kent a sandwich as a way for him to stop talking as I close the door as he just says with his mouth full, "Say, what'd you two see at the power station? Huh, tigers?" I just look at him not amuse, "I don't talk to someone with their mouth full." We walk away as the next thing a few minutes later he is around the corner as he asks, "You two tell anyone else about this, buddy? How big is this thing, rangers?" We are going out the door now as he then asks, "Hey, where are you going?" He has asked us so many times that it got annoying as Hogarth says annoyed, "We're going out!"

I pass Hogarth his sweater as his mom says to us, "Why don't you take Mr. Mansley with you? Show him the sights." We sigh as Hogarth says, "Oh, mom, the sights?" We then hear Kent say, "Hey, I'd love that. Give us a chance to get acquainted, swap some stories, huh, chief?" We just look at him already with his hat on ready to go as his mom then says, "You see. Plus, you two can go on a date another day." We both blush as I hid my face with my hand as Hogarth says, "Mom..." We then decided to take Kent to Eddie's Rexall where they sell almost anything as well as small little stalls as we sat at the counter. We decided to get some vanilla shakes as I saw some laxative chocolate and regular chocolate bars. I smile a bit, getting an idea as I take two regular chocolate bars and one laxative bar. I see Hogarth looking at me as I hand him one regular and the laxative as he looks at it for a moment then smiles getting my idea.

We then see our shakes being placed in front of us as he then says, "Hey Kent have you ever had a landslide?" He looks at us a bit curious, "No. I have not, what is it?" I smile, "It's very delicious that goes along with any shakes you order." Hogarth nods, "Yup. First you take a chocolate bar. Any bar'll do." He opens the laxative one showing him the chocolate bar as Kent nods, "Oh." Hogarth then looks at Kents shake, "Do you mind if I, uh..." "No, knock yourself out, skipper." He then begins to crumble the bar onto the shake, "You crumble up the chocolate into little pieces. Then you kind of stir it into the ice cream. See?" He stirs his ice cream for a few seconds as Kent nods, "Yes, I see. What do you call this again?" I answer, "Landslide. It's new. Very new." Hogarth and I do the same thing to our shakes with the regular ones as we watch Kent eat his in delight, "Mmm. Landslide. Topnotch. Mmm. You know, Hogarth, Emma, we live in a strange and wondrous time. The Atomic Age. But there's a dark side to progress, Emma, Hogarth. Ever hear of Sputnik?" We nod as I answer, "Yeah, it's the first satellite in space." "Foreign satellite, Hogarth, and all that that implies. Even now, it orbits overhead. Boop. Boop. Watching us. We can't see it, but it's there. Much like that giant thing in the woods. We don't know what it is or what it can do. I don't feel safe, Emma, Hogarth. Do either of you?" We just give him a questioning look as we both say, "What are you talking about?" "What am I talking about?" He then raises his voice loud to the point everyone can hear us, "What am I talking about? I'm talking about both your godarned security, Hogarth, Emma!"
