Emma POV

We hurry our way back to Hogarth's home into the barn as I get off, opening the barn door for Hogarth to go in first and put his bike away. I follow behind him watching him place it down as we then hear something behind us say, "You're late for dinner, Hogarth, Emma." We get startled and begin to run towards the exit. But it is shut as we turn around pushing ourselves against the door, seeing Kent locking it as he says, "Your mom's working late tonight, Hogarth. So it's just us three. And we're gonna have a little chat." We move back as he walks up to us as he then pushes us down into seats, "Sit down!" He then flashes a bright light right in our faces as we try to cover our eyes as he asks, "How's that? A little too bright? Good." We try to look around but it's too bright as Kent continues, "Forgive me, Hogarth, Emma. I wanted you two to learn something." Hogarth then asks, "What can we learn from you?" "You can learn this, Hogarth. That I can do anything I want, whenever I want, if I feel it's in the people's best interest." He comes right next to us as he then asks, "The giant metal man, where is it?" I then say, "We don't know what you're talking about." "You don't? Well. Does this ring a bell?" He throws a photo we took of scrap metal in the forest when we first meet the Giant officially. "No? How about this?" Next was another picture of the two of us and with the Giant behind us as we were surprised as Kent says, "You two have been careless, Hogarth, Emma."

I started getting mad as I said, "It doesn't prove anything." "It's enough to get the Army here with one phone call." "Then what's stopping you?" Kent moves the light and gets up on our faces "Where's the giant?" He then grabs our faces, squishing it tightly as I groan a bit as he says, "You two can't protect him, Hogarth, Emma, any more than you can protect your family Emma." I glare at him, "You can't even touch them." "Oh, yes I can." "Sure, but you gotta dig them up first." He looks at me a bit surprised as he then says, "Then what about Mrs. Hughes?" I looked at him shocked as Hogarth said, "My mom?" "Ah, it's difficult to raise a boy all alone. Alongside taking care of his dear bestfriend. We can make it more difficult. In fact, we can make it so difficult that it would be irresponsible for us to leave you in her care and all that implies. You'll be taken away from her, Hogarth." We both then say, "You can't do that!" "Oh, we can. And we will." I tighten my fists not knowing what I can say or do as Hogarth then sees defeat, "He's in the junkyard." I looked over at Hogarth sadly, but I understood what he had to do as I sigh and add, "McCoppin's Scrap, off Culver Road." Kent then says, "The junkyard. Of course! Food for the metal-eater." I glared at him as he then walked behind us saying, "I wouldn't worry about this, Hogarth, Emma. It isn't really happening. This is only a bad dream." I then say, "When my Gran..." But when we both turn to him he places a cloth on our faces as we yelp. We suddenly become super drowsy as I knock out.

Next thing I know I am laying on something soft as I hear, "Yes, sir. This thing is real, sir. I not only have incontrovertible evidence, General, I know where it's hidden." My eyes open up, but I still want to hear more as he says, "I don't know who built it, but it's here." I then see Hogarth get up suddenly as Kent says, "It's massive and we're running out of time." I get up as well as we get out of bed walking quietly towards the door as Hogarth goes first as Kent continues, "There's no doubt we should act. The only question, sir, is... Can you afford not to? Excellent sir. You won't regret it. Thank you, sir." We hear him end his call as we hide behind the door hearing him pass us as we then get out onto to walk into Kent. He then says, "The Army arrives in the morning, Hogarth. Emma. Don't get cute." We glare at him as I say, "I don't need to." We walk back inside Hogarths room as I shut it. I then whisper to Hogarth, "We got to warn Dean." We go towards the window as Hogarth tries to open it. But he can't as I try helping as well. We then notice the windows nailed shut from the outside as someone opens the door behind us. We turn around as Kent glares at us as we glare back as he says, "I'll be watching you both. He backs up to his room sitting at the end of his bed. We walk back to bed as we lay sitting up on the pillow staring at Kent. Hogarth then puts on his helmet and puts down his goggles. Two hours passed and I started blinking slowly, getting very sleepy. Another 30 minutes pass as I fall asleep turning to my side out of Kent's view as Hogarth was mostly covering me.
