"Come give Dada a kiss," Wright puckered his lips before the toddler after his pre-schooler gave him a tight hug as if sensing his anxiety. Willow Ashley puckered her lips in response and planted a peck on her father's waiting lips before running back to her grandmother in her bright yellow pajamas.
"Bye Dada," Wyn-wyn or Winona Audrey said with a concerned look. She is five years old and doesn't know anything but can feel her father's troubled mood even if Wright never tells his kids anything for fear that their young minds wouldn't be able to understand.
"Why are you leaving earlier tonight?" Olivia Domiguez asked in a puzzled tone when she saw that her eldest son is all dressed up to leave when he usually leaves at midnight for his 2 am shift.
"I'm back on training, mom," Wright answered evasively, unwilling to divulge more to his discerning mother.
Bright Vachirawit as Wright Dominguez
"Training? You've been working for almost a year, Wright," Olivia answered with narrowed eyes as wyn-wyn and Willow hugged her from both sides as if they are trying to restrain her.
"I got reprofiled, mom," Wright mumbled in an exasperated breath, the word tasting bitter on his tongue.
"What do you mean? Did you transfer to another company?" The older woman asked in a confused tone, unaware that the term "reprofile" would rank as one of the most vilified terms in the BPO industry. An agent being reprofiled is tantamount to an agent being let go by their previous account for not measuring up to standard. It was like a scarlet letter that screamed incompetence.
"No mom, he got transferred to a different account but the same company," Wella, Wright's younger sister immediately came to his rescue. Being a BPO worker herself but in a work-from-home setup, she knows what her brother is going through right now.
"You told Wella but you didn't tell me?" Olivia said in an offended tone and Wyn-wyn took this as a cue to tug at her younger sister. Willow looked at her elder sister with furrowed brows but allowed herself to be led away and the two entered their bedroom to leave the adults to their conversation.
"You wouldn't understand, mom. I don't want to freak you out," Wright murmured in a frustrated tone as he ran his fingers through his already tousled hair.
"I'll tell you about it, mom. Let Wright leave. He can't be late for training," Wella insisted as she tugged at her mother's forearm. Olivia resisted briefly before sighing and following her grandchildren to their bedroom.
"Take care of the girls for me, sis," Wright said in a grateful tone as he slipped on his loafers.
"Of course, I will. Just do your best, bro," Wella said in an encouraging tone. She has been in the BPO industry longer than his older brother who was a former OFW who had to come home to look after his kids after a messy breakup with his live-in partner of 6 years.
