Chapter 6

"i want the contract terminated"

A series of gasps and murmurs erupt among the office of the superiors and officials.

Minho has announced something entirely out of ordinary and he could say this was not the meeting they were expecting to take place. He contacted everyone from both companies, officers, secretaries, officials, reporters. Every single person.

Jungmin stares at Minho waiting for him to scream at how he fooled everyone, but when he doesn't he speaks up "pardon? Contract terminated?" He asks again. Minho has always been jocund around every person he comes across no wonder he assumed minho would do some prank like this. It wasn't a prank.

Minho nods

"Respectfully, are you aware the lengths i had reached for this contract? And you want it to be terminated just like that? You assume it's easy?" Asks jungmin

Minho starts laughing. Everyone around the auditorium get confused.

"Hear me out, Min Min." He says "Listen to everything i need to say, don't speak up before i finish." He announces. Clearing his throat "I want everyone to be perfectly silent so i would be audible to everyone."

"We're making a new contract. That's all. That's the meeting, we will discuss everything else later. Alternate contract will be decided soon, don't make up any headlines for now." He says "you're dismissed."

Everyone, still confused, leaves the hall and let both of the elderly men do the talk.

Jungmin stares at Minho for a brief moment before picking up his files and about to walk away, but Minho stops him "Wait." He instantly sits back down as the latter's voice sounds urgent.

"What is it?" Minho sighs at him, turning to face him.

"Look, we need to discuss the contract first. The alternate one. But you're walking away solemnly. It makes me feel guilty." Minho says

"Guilty?" Jungmin laughs "You embarassed me Minho. I have never expected this from our patner ship, are you aware of the damage this is going to cause? I've given all of me, every day, night for this. This fucking contract and you terminate it, just like that? It's not even the date of termination and you just blindly do it? I'm so disappointed, that's exactly why I was about to walk away" jungmin retorts

"I need time." He says

"Exactly. I'm aware what you're going to, what you've done for this. I know how much it disappoints you, i am aware of how much you want to walk away from me take time for yourself." Minho says

"Look jung, this contract is important for me as much as it is for you. We both have a say in this, this was our own decision to get our children married. But unfortunately something extremely terrible has happened and now my younger daughter is upset with me." Minho says

"How do your personal matters and the contract relate?" Jungmin asks

"Exactly. How?" Minho says "look your son cheated on my daughter. We know what this relationship meant to them, we were about to get a win win but then your own son ruined everything. He ruined our reputation, he ruined practically everything. It's because of him i decided to terminate the contract." Minho says.

"Why does that matter? We need bussiness, partnership and collaboration, for our companies to grow, if we get concerned with our children's life, it would be such a waste and everything will go bankrupt. Since when do their personal feelings matter to you?" Jungmin practically screams. The auditorium has been emptied a long time ago.

"Since never." Minho replies

And then he starts laughing "you really think i value her feelings, so i took this step?" Jungmin stays silent.

"Actually you're right, jungmin. Their personal feelings should not matter. But what if they do, in a way that would benefit us." Minho says

Jungmin stays silent "What way? How? Will you force her to it?" Minho shakes his head.

"Will you threaten her?" Jungmin asks

"Kinda. But no. You're closeee" Jungmin sighs

"What are you going to do? Make the Kim's collaborate? Corrupt her carrier? Make false accusations? What?" He gets frustrated with all of his own assumptions.

Minho gives him a sick smile, one that would make everyone loathe him with just an expression.

"Something worse than that"
