"Do you want to talk about it?"

"It's not that big of a deal."

"Whatever it is, maybe spilling it will make your heart feel lighter," Dejun suggested.

"No, I'm fine."

Dejun retrieved and handed me a box of midnight black cookies that were sandwiched with white cream in the middle.

"Oreos?" Dejun offered.

I released a sigh and accepted the box. I opened the bright green lid of the transparent box and munched on a couple of Oreos.

"Fine, I'll explain."

I inhaled a deep breath and began my story. The story of a romance like a flower in full bloom.

Now it was as dead as a wilted flower.

"It's all in the past now," I concluded. "He's living his life and I'm living my own. I'm over it and in fact I've had other crushes after him. But...."

I gazed out of the window at the night sky. It reminded me of the night of Hendery's birthday.

"It's okay if it still hurts," Dejun said with a quiet voice.

We locked our eyes together.

"In the end, you made the right decision. I'm not good at giving advice and stuff but there is one thing I do need to tell you: you're a brave person," Dejun reassured. "The longer you stayed in the relationship, the more you would've gotten hurt. It's like arrows shooting through your hurt over and over again."

He opened his arms for a hug and I leaned in to return the hug. It felt warm, much more warm than hugging my own guitar after a crying session.

"Thank you so much Dejun," I replied. "I really mean from the very bottom of my heart. And you were right, my heart feels much more at ease after sharing."

Dejun returned a heartwarming smile.

"Thank you for listening, Dejun."

"Do you mind if I sing a song for you Mingxia?" he asked.

"I would love it very much."

Dejun picked up his guitar and started playing a few notes. When he started singing, it felt like time stopped. The room around me felt brighter. Dejun's voice was smooth like honey. The way he sang every word made my heart beat faster. By the time he was done singing Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars, I was completely left stunned.

"What do you think?" he asked.

"I- it's awesome, like absolutely amazing," I said. "I don't even have the right words to describe how nice that was. Your voice along with the guitar, it all flowed so perfectly together.

Dejun laughed, like a genuine happy laugh. It touched my heart even more.

"Alright, I got a song for you."

I grabbed my guitar and played Depend On You by Twice.

"I'll hold your hands, I know you've been waiting for me."

When I finished, I looked up at Dejun's eyes which had a dreamy look to them. He looked back at me with a sweet smile, his face resting on his hand with his elbow propped up on the desk. I tucked a hair behind my ear and smiled back.
