A week and a half later.....
Sean sighed as he put his briefcase on his desk. Today wasn't as stressful as the week has been and surprisingly Richard was beginning to turn over a new leaf and Sean could see that. To bad he wasn't his father but Keira's so he would have to turn over that leaf with her. He could care less about him. If Keira decided to forgive him for what happened between her and her father then so would Sean, but he would never forget. Sean agreed with him to give her time and then he could talk to her.
Hopefully she would because she continued to not speak to anyone since she got home. His mother decided to stay while the rest of his family traveled back to California. Staying with Sean and Keira, she tried to nurse her back to full health along with Kamara but Keira was not cooperating. She didn't want to eat, get out of bed, or even take a bath. It was just too much for all of them and it was taking a toll on everyone's relationship.
Walking out of his home office, Sean went into the kitchen where his mother was cooking dinner. He went over to her and kissed her cheek causing her to jump.
"Dear Lord," she breathed. "You startled me."
Sean chuckled. "Who did you think it was?"
Sophia shook her head and dismissed his question. "How was work?" She asked.
"Work was work," he shrugged.
Sophia looked up at her son and saw bags underneath his eyes. Everyone was tired but they all had to be patient with Keira. She could tell that he was worried about her and his heart was heavy.
"She'll come around Sean," she whispered to him and rubbed his back. "Just be patient. Take this up to her and see if she eats it. She hasn't eaten anything all day"
He nodded his head and took the bowl of homemade beef stew and a glass of water with him. Going up the stairs, he prayed that Keira was in a better mood, but his mother did say anything changed so nothing probably did. Opening the door, he closed the door with his foot and walked over to Keira's side, where she was facing the wall.
The exact same spot she was in when he left for work this morning.
Sean sat the bowl down on the nightstand along with the glass of water and looked down at Keira. Tear streaks where on her cheeks and her eyes were red. A natural reaction of Sean made him wipe her tears with his thumb and caress her cheek. He hated that she so distressed and wish that he could do something about it, but she had to come out this episode by herself.
