It was Saturday afternoon when Kiera meet up with Lacey at the Manhattan Mall. This week was tiring for her, but she managed to get through it once again. Even though Sean was her new executive editor and took half of the weight of her shoulders when it came to work, she was still exhausted because of her pregnancy. She had a second mind to call Lacey back and cancel because the last thing she wanted to do was walk around an entire mall. She didn't have the energy to shop Although this was Keira's first time being pregnant, she knew that she had a long road ahead of her.
Hopefully with Sean it would be more easier. One thing she didn't want him to do was hover over her all the damn time and breath down her neck. Yes, she was giving him a chance but that didn't mean for them to spend time with each other 24/7, seven days of the week. The two were already going to work together and riding home.
Keira whipped into a parking spot, grabbed her purse, and got out her Infiniti Hybrid, closing the door behind her. Walking to the mall's main entrance she found Lacey who was waiting on her.
"Geez! Took you long enough," she complained.
Keira waved her off. "You're not pregnant."
"Is that going to be you excuse from now on?"
"Seems like a good enough reason for everything now," Keira laughed.
Lacey shook her head at her friend, grabbed Keira's hand, and rushed through the mall filled with crowded people. It was just your typically Saturday afternon, those that couldn't shop during the week.
"What the hell!" Keira shrieked. "Slow down Lace!"
Lacey ignored Keira's demand and continued walking quickly. When they stopped, Keira looked up at the store they were in front of and glanced at Lacey.
"Don't you think it's a little bit to early to be shopping for baby clothes?" Keira asked.
"Nope. Not when Carter's is having a sell," Lacey explained. "Come on!"
"Lace, I don't even know what the sex of the baby is," Keira said, walking into the store behind her. Lacey went to a shelf and picked up a pink onesie.
"Then we can get clothes for both then," Lacey suggested.
"We have plenty of time to-"
"Can I have a basket please?" Lacey shouted to a salesman close by. Keira looked around and was happy to find out that nobody was paying attention to her and her loud friend.
Hours passed by as the ladies continued to shop at Carter's, The Children's Place, and Baby Gap. Tons of bags in each hand they walked to Keira's car. Lacey helped her get everything inside her trunk.
"I have to tell you something," Lacey announced.
Keira sighed. "Please don't tell me you're pregnant to. I can barely deal with myself."
"Hell no! It's about the guy I meet at Marquee that same night."
"Still haven't heard from that Daniel character?"
Lacey shook her head and fiddled with her hands. "I mean should I be mad Keke?"
"I would be pissed off since he said he would call and never did."
"Maybe it was because of what I told him. About my pass," Lacey said, trying to come up with an explanation. "It was just something about him that made me want to share. He told me about him too."
"Well, don't lose faith. Never know when you'll run into him again."
Lacey rummaged through her purse and took other keys. "Yeah. I doubt it," she countered.
